I got 3 questions if someone can help me with:



I'm in the year 1501 .. playing as Holland nation.. and there are no dutch settlements/ports as of yet.

1) If I capture any port, will I be able to hollandize it? If so, will a Spanish war galleon (40 guns 24'lber / 414 crew) be able to take down forts or you need first rates for that?

2) And another question; would my character live until the year 1700 or so? or do characters die at a certain age like in Sid Meier's pirates?

3) When the tavern keeper tells me news and I read "Gold found in ******" or silver... does this mean if I go there I can loot gold/silver? and how is it done?

There should be a "Dutch Emissary" in the Antigua Naval HQ if I recall correctly.
You can get a LoM and promotions through him.

1. Yes, you can give towns to Holland after capturing them.

2. Your character will not die, but it'll take you forever to reach the 1700s.
Also, the time period will not update during the game so newer style ships will not star to appear.

3. It means that town has gotten an economic boost.

Oh ok I get it now.
So might as well play through till I'm bored, then start new one with new age.
