I played POTC when it was first released and quickly became disgusted with it and put it away until it was patched. Forgot about it until I played SMP, which I got bored with in about a week, and decided to play some Sea Dogs and check out POTC again and was pleasently surprised with all the mods. So now I'm hard into it again and enjoying every minute of it way past my bedtime.

However, have run into some things that I just cannot figure out how to do. Been reading the forums (search dosen't work) but can't find answers.

1. How do you transfer items to your officers?

2. How do you buy a second ship without automatically trading in your existing ship? I want to add a second ship to haul goods.

3. How do you add emblems to your sails? I have red, full sails on a Level 4, 20 Gun Brig.

4. Can you change the officers names? I can't remember who is the 1st Mate and who is the Nav. I'm using a list with their job title.

Any help would be appreciated.
 
1. You can only transfer items to your "active" officers, i.e. those who are running around with you. You can determine who those are in the "Passengers" screen. To transfer items, face them, press enter, and there will be an option at the bottom of the screen that is "transfer items", basically two arrows facing different direction. Oh, and you can't take their items if it is equipped, but if you give them a better item, they will equip it automatically.

2. When at the shipyard, click on the empty slot, click "set captain". Then you set a captain and officers there, and can buy a ship.

3. Er... not sure about that one.

4. I don't think you can do that. You can change their look through the tailors, though.

Thanks for the quick response. I was using the Space bar as a short cut for talking and opening doors so I never saw the Exchange icon.

I've got a store house of choice stuff and they've been bugging me to distribute it. So now I can keep them happy.

For your #3 question, you need to have a level 2 or above ship to be able to have emblemed sails.

I thought its able to have emblems with level 3 and above!

You have to have a bigger ship - the smaller ones won't work - and the Xebec will not take emblems, either.
