Game won't load...

So heres my problem:

I installed the US English version of POTC with no problems. I even installed DirectX 9.0 and WMP 9. I run Engine.exe and the STORM ENGINE runs and initializes everything and 128 atoms or something and stuff like that. Then it says Initializing DirectX 8 (but it installed 9...?) and then the screen goes blank. After maybe 30 seconds, the screen that says "Game Loading..." comes up and sits there for about 2 minutes. Then the program terminates without any errorsor exceptions. It just quits. I haven't done any builds or anything yet. Please help me out!

I have tried using the Build and the same thing happens...

So heres my system specs:

Windows 98 (i know...its prehistoric)
Intel Pentium III 550 MHz (should this be a problem since recc is 800?)
128 MB RAM
DirectX 9.0
Matrox G400 video card 32 MB
Yamaha DS-XG Direct Sound Driver

So there it is. I hope this can help diagnose my problem, I think I've tried everything! I am stumped.

Ok, so I figured it out. My Matrox card won't even haul POTC!! POTC wasn't even designed to be able to run on those bad boys. So if you've got a Matrox card, you're SOL...don't worry about me. *sniff* I'll be ok
