Free Blacksmith

When I ask the smithy to sharpen my blade, he doesn't take any money for it. Though oddly he won't let me sharpen until i have enough gold for the work. He just forgets to take it.

I'm using Build 12 and blacksmith mods.

Is this a bug? Has anyone else noticed this?

Check your Personal Wealth, that is where the money comes from to pay for upgrades to swords and pistols. not the ships money.

If the money is not substracted from your personal wealth, re-post here and let us know.

This was a known bug some time ago. It got fixed later by CCC. I believe it was because the code was trying to do the paying as a "string", but that doesn't work, because it had to be an "int".
Anyway: Enough for the computer-talk. You are quite right about this bug. But it has been fixed already. The post Build 12 modpack (see the link in my sig), contains the blacksmith mod without this bug. But if you're not wanting to use all these mods (and risk the additional unfixed bugs), just post here and I'll try to figure out how to fix the bug without installing the post Build 12 mods. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

I'm fairly certain it's not coming out of my personal stash though I haven't re-tried for certain. I was a newbie pirate at the time with 500 gold or so asking for 10000+ gold upgrades. I'm not too fussed though as this is far less annoying than the "horror of the high seas" bug that meant I had to start right from the begining.

I've just reinstalled the whole lot without the additional blacksmith mod (He was making my life far too easy anyway). I think I'll stick with it as is for now but will definately get build 13 if it is made

Just downloaded build 12 a week ago after wasting money buying Sid Meiers Pirates (Can't believe that got 4 1/2 stars on game spy and PotC only 2). I think PotC Build 12 is now my favourite game of all time, AND it was free.

A virtual round o' rum on me for all you modders out there!
