Anyway, how does one go about starting the FredBob quest? I am running build 12.1 and have finished the main quest. Is FredBob included as part of that build or do I have to install a patch? If it is part of the build how do I start the quest?

Love the looks of the Board. Bit of a shock at first, but after a bit seems really nice. Great Job.
 
It indeed is in the game. Go to the Falaise de Fleur harbour and talk to the guy named Orable Caron (near the portmaster's house) until he tells you about Fred Bob.
 
Then go find FB where there is a half-finished hull of a ship laid up at the other FdF shore location. He is that fat dark skinned guy in Fred_Bob's avatar. Then talk to Old F... Aufort, I mean, and you can get FB as officer from then on. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
 
Well, I think you <b>do</b> get some money from Estrella, but that's not why we all love the quest! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />
 
Yes, you get some money from Estrella, and later from Armand, in the "Help the lady" quest which is the add-on to the "Help the Boatswain" (Fred Bob) quest. Fred Bob carries a letter promising a reward to the person who delivers it - he gives it to you to thank you for getting him out of his predicament - and you then have to "help the lady" out of HER predicament. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Lots of fun ensues. I really enjoyed making that quest and learning how to make quests - I look forward to someday expanding upon the characters I created and making them part of a whole new quest-generation system.

Estrella got away with the French pirate, and he said to go to QB for some letter, but when I went there, no letter or anything.
 
That's because that part of the quest is not finished yet. There's not supposed to be a letter yet. But maybe there will be some time later, when Catalina continues it.

HKD, the questbook has a final entry that explains that the "Help the Lady" quest is not yet finished - and there's no letter - but yes, I want to continue this when we can get some new locations.

I'd like to see Estrella as an innkeeper and Armand as a "pirate king" quest generator on an island with a hidden cove.
