You're trying to sneak into a hostile port using a false flag. Because you have no LoM, that false flag is the naval type. If you're in a pure warship such as a frigate, that's a bit of a giveaway, isn't it? Because anyone legitimately in charge of a frigate either bought it (which requires a high enough rank, which requires a LoM), or captured it (which requires a LoM otherwise it's piracy).
A captain with the "Master of Disguise" ability would know that. So would an officer with ability who can advise the captain - that is, a quartermaster or first mate, who can contribute the ability.
Suggestion: if you have the "Master of Disguise" ability, in person or from a contributing officer, and you raise a false flag while in a warship, you show a naval flag instead of a merchant flag. If you're in a merchant ship, a dual-purpose or "versatile" ship, or you don't have "Master of Disguise", then you fly a merchant flag.
Possibly also increase the chances of being recognised if you're flying a false flag, you're in a warship and you don't have "Master of Disguise", so you're flying the wrong false flag.
