!Engine HAS STOPED WORKING! HELP!

OK Age Of pirates Isn't working! I know what a surprise. I have done all the crap in the first page and still don't know what to do. i installed a new tape drive ( what ever that is) i installed ffdshow (still have no idea what im doing) So please help a 14 year old kid figure this out. And here is what it comes up with when the game crashes after 20 seconds of loading.

Hmmm, hard to tell, but at first glance it seems directx wasn't installed properly. But it's hard to tell without comp specs, could be dodgy drivers for graphic card.

I have exact same problem, game crashes randomly only in sailing mode on map.

Fresh install of CAOS, fresh install of 3.20 mod. The strange thing is this never happened in 3.15....

Fixed.

Game did not like running under compatibility mode (xp sp3) in Windows 7. Also made exception in ffdshow for CAOS (dunno if that helped also).

can anyone PROPERLY guide me into installing the new patch...

I did right but I can't save my progress along the way... it crashhes always when I saved my progress..

Using Vista Premium Home Edition.
