Dropping/Removing Items From Inventory

Hi I just (today) installed COAS after having played AOP:CT for a long while and hearing that COAS with the CMV mod is a much better game/overall experience and much more stable. Seems to be the case so far and I loooove this game with the CMV mod; I don't know why I didn't get it sooner (I guess I just really liked Caribbean Tales even with all the bugs/crashes :\).

One really "odd" thing to me, though, is that you can't seem to drop or remove items from your character's inventory. Like when I board a ship and accidentally grab 3 "shoes" from dead sailors/soldiers that I've killed and want to just get rid of them since they reduce stats, I'm unable to do so as far as I can tell. Is that to encourage the need to sell them or throw them in a chest to get rid of them, almost like they are stuck with you until you find a place to get rid of them since you were so greedy and just looted everything? If it's intended then I understand but it's bugging the hell out of me thinking there is some way to drop items and I can't seem to find out how! o_O When I have an item (such as a sapphire for example) highlighted in my inventory, the only noticeable button is "equip" and it's kind of dimmed out since I obviously can't equip a sapphire, but can't I at least drop it or get rid of it?

The cormorant even says "bury it or make it into a scarecrow"...how so!?

Thanks for any help or answers and also thanks a ton to everyone working on the CMV mod! It really makes the game 10x better!

I dont think there is a drop option on nothing, you can always return them to the corpse you took it from :) , or sell it, or drop it in any chest you come acros, but i usualy sell all.

Alright thanks. Ya I realized there are a lot of 'containers' (corpses, chests, etc.) all over the place that i could easily just place the items on if I accidentally pick them up, so it's not a big deal anymore.

Also, is there a way to talk to other ships anymore for selling contraband, trading and demanding ransom/surrender like in AOP1? It seems like I can't do that anymore so it really sucks when a pirate ship attacks me because I'm sailing another nation's flag and I can't even talk to him to tell him I'm a pirate as well or to at least pay him to leave me be on my tiny ship :|. And what is the point of launching a rowboat? I've never had the option to launch it anywhere but always see the launch option available in the menu anyways.

Sorry for all the beginner questions, there are just a lot of different and new things in AOP2 that weren't in AOP1.

If i remember correctly you cant pay them to let you go, or to surrender for that matter. But if you take down all of their crew they do tend to surrender and then you can capture enemy captain and later either sell him to governor or talk to him to let him go, or talk to him to make him part of the crew.

Rowboat's purpose is to go to other ships and talk to their captains reguarding certain quests like logbook quest or some pirate searching quests.

It's no problem whatever you need help with just ask. :)
