Dividing Plunder and Building

Capt Deimus

Landlubber
Hey all,

I've been on the seas smashing french interests for a bit now and have aquired a decent amount of coin....not the wealthiest priveteers to ever sail, but we have done well in a short time. A half mil in coin and a four ship squadron of two class 2s and two class 3s. The crew of my fleet seem to have had enough of this life and have threatened to mutiny if I don't divide the riches we've aquired. Before they run off to squander our/their fortune on wenches and wine, I've considered starting a small settlement somewhere.

I have a couple questions first...

What can I expect out of the division? Will my officers bail too? What % of the total coin would I be left with? Should I sell all extra ships (I'd like to sail with at least two)?

What should I build first? I'm just looking to plant the seed right now. We'll grow later.

Where should I build? Can I build anywhere? I'd perfer to start on an unsettled shore on an English shore. Any suggestions here would be great.

Anyways, Thanks in advance.

You should devide the plunder every now and then. The higher the plunder devided, the greater the morale-rise you get from it. If you don't devide the plunder, your sailors get angry, because they don't get paid. When you devide the plunder, your officers and even yourself get a share of the treasures found. You keep a certain percentage (don't remember; read the files in the buildinfo subfolder) to prepare yourself for your next plundering campaign. There is no need to sell your ships.

You can build literally anywhere, except aboard ships. You can even build INSIDE buildings. Please note: The buildings might look weird and act odd, but it's still a might fun mod. To build you need gold, planks and crewmembers. Talk to an officer to be able to build. Note: He will explain you about the building process as well. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

planks in the ship's hold, of course. just regular rapair-planks. building a house out of mahogany might be a good show-off, but i wouldn't recommend it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="icon_wink.gif" />
