disabling quests

Landlubber
hi all!

I've been playing a while, and I received a treasure quest on kaiman kai. unfortunately, the fix for the lock on kaiman kai only works if you start a new game, which I don't want to do yet. so my question is, how can I disable/complete the quest manually? it's probably a simple thing to enable/disable, but i have no clue where to look

thanks mateys,

you could try buying a new treasure map. buying a new one disables the previous treasure quest. you wouldn't have to change anything either.

sorry, I should've made the question more specific,
I meant making the quest seem completed in your journal, by changing something in my save game manually.
with games like Oblivion it is very simple, since you can type a LOT of commands while in-game. that feature isn't in this game, or maybe it is but I don't know where to look.
if anyone could help I'd appreciate it.

That would require a savegame editor I think - there is no console in PotC, I'm afraid. Anyone have a savegame editor that works for PotC?

I've not heard of a trainer or character editor myself. But then I've never looked for one. I usually don't use cheats in any games I play. **grins**

I'll have a look for one right away, thanks!

There IS a console. Any code added to PROGRAM\console.c in the ExecuteConsole() function is run when you press F12. You should be able to add a complete quest line, though I don't know exactly how to do that.

Of course, easiest would be a save game editor, but I haven't found one yet...
Main problem is I'm a planner, in real life and in any game. I tend to work multiple quests as well as make money along the way. Seeing an unsolved quest not planned as in where and when I will complete it annoys me... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/slap.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":slap" border="0" alt="slap.gif" />

Try figuring out what the "close quest" command is that you can put in the console. I should be possible somehow.
