crew morale

How do i turn off crew morale..can not keep them from killing me..try to sail from one island to another but i never make it..crew morale goes from high to murderious in less than a min..how can i change this...?
 
Do you have a lot of money by any chance? If so, your crew is probably rather envious of that.
Either pay them each time they mutiny or switch to "Divide the Plunder" mode. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whippa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":whipa" border="0" alt="whippa.gif" />

You can also set UNLIMITEDLOOT to 1 at the bottom of PROGRAM\InternalSettings.h, but that is CHEATING! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/boom.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":boom" border="0" alt="boom.gif" />
 
no dont have alot of money...yet...in build 13 final they were a slight more happy and content..what happened to the pay crew window that poped up every month to pay them ???

it pops up..not as often.. but crew morale still changes to fast..from high to low way to fast

got food turned off
 
got it up to 4 mil now..and no i am not using cheat..captured ships and did treasure quests <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sail" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" />

I'm also using Build Mod 13 (Final). Food is turned on and I always make sure I have a sufficient supply of food and rum for at least 20 days. The pop-up to pay crew salaries does appear, although occasionally it does so just as something else happens which prevents me from clicking to reply; I don't know if it assumes "yes" or "no".

One thing I have noticed is that crew morale drops during battle - I can start with "Excellent", board a couple of enemy ships and be down to "Awful". I'll usually check morale at the end of the battle and raise it to "Elated" by paying the crew. Sometimes I'll give them some money during the battle as higher morale boosts their ability during boarding.
 
Morale drops based on your losses, I think. If you can minimize that, your crew should be much happier. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />
BTW: Most of the above applies to Build 14 Alpha 9.
 
I'm using build 14 and have close to the same problem but i have the unlimited gold on and plenty of food. My ship is fine but my second ship under my companion's control morale drops at an incredible rate then mutiny against me. My companion has 9 leadership. (Note: I know this is old but i dident want to create a new forum.)
 
What is your reputation and what is your companion's reputation?
If there is a big difference, that can indeed happen. A Hero does not like to work for a Bloody Terror and vice versa.
