Is there a way to turn down how often the coastguard shows when you are dealing in contraband? I don't think I've ever done business with the smugglers and NOT had them show up.

Coastguard Question

The luckier you are the less they show up. I don't smuggle anymore, but when I did they showed up a lot early in the game but much less often later in the game.
Hint: If you can avoid them on shore and get to your ship without fighting, then it is often possible to sail away with little or no fighting at sea.
Hylie is right; it is indeed luck-bases. Is there still a problem with this? -
