Cant talk to the dead

Ahoy there, when i board a ship and the captain surrenders my character moves in slow motion towards the captain and when he gets there a message appears and says something like "unable to talk to the dead... your name is Hamlet? Maybe?" and then im stuck in his cabin and cant do anything. Any help?
