Can't leave ships deck at new game start

So I finally got the game to run by reinstalling but now when I start a new game, I got out on the deck after malcom leaves and I cannot go anywhere even after I find the Sea interaction near the bell. I thought it was I was running windowed mode but I made the fix listed in the FAQ and nothing happened. Then I tried full-screen and again nothing happened.

What must I do to fix this?

Did you take note of the spot where Malcolm left the deck to go ashore in Speightstown?
That's the spot you should go as well to go ashore; then you can continue.

He left the cabin through the door, I followed him, and when I arrived on Deck no one was there.

Did you ask for lessons on swordfighting?

In that case, you can try walking around the deck until you find a reload to shore;
there's one on the port and one on the starboard side, just forward of midship.
Alternatively, continue the tutorial until after the sword practice and Malcolm will show you.
