cant get out of port without being attacked

hi, i resently started a new game. instead of taking to the seas right off, i found that you could go into a hantion, piss off the wife on the uperlevel, and kill her husband and his guards to recieve considerable loot. i did this quite a few times before trying to head to my ship. i wasnt too suprized when i was instantly fired on. i checked my rep and it was swindler or rascal or something. so i headed over to the curch cause i thought i remembered that you were suposed to donate to recover rep. instead they attacked me and turned undead, but i guess it wasn't a wasted venture as they thanked me and it seemed to bump up my rep. figuring nutural was good enough to at least be able to board my ship without being sunk i tried it again. it was the same result. i was almost instantaniously sunk by the fort and three ships in horbor.

does anyone have any advice? i'd realy like the guards maning the fort in oxby to chill.

The fort fires on you if you are flying the flag of a nation to which it is hostile.

Check what flag you are flying and what your relations are with the British - try flying another flag with better relations

At the begining of the Nathaniel Hawk storyline The fort at Speightstown is captured by the French so you should check your relations with them as well. ( the 3 ships in the harbour could be the French invasion force ) ;)
 
They are the french invasion force, fly your personal flag and you should get out of the port alright (I think)
 
LOL! You seem to have found the Haunted Abbey in Bridgetown instead of the regular church! :rofl

But indeed, the fort should be a flag thing. I used to like flying Portuguese colours because generally everybody likes the Portuguese in the Standard storyline.

Haha typical Pieter, actually thinking how to not get attacked pretty much never (except for pirates YARH!)

Advice,yes....do'nt piss the wife off xD:..they do'nt have a sence of humor generaly.
Mine does'nt anyway :glare:

I too don't have a girlfriend, but am not working on it either.
Haven't the foggiest how to work on such a thing in the first place. :razz
 
That's where I'm going wrong then....I've got a pint pot for coffee and can't afford to go to the pictures anymore :rumgone

But back to cro117's story....

He...Pissed the wife off.... that's just for starters...then he killed her husband :dance and guards, robbed them blind :2guns ,(at this point the husband does'nt care anymore),but she's taking it personally now,so off she goes,spills the beans to the authorities...cro117 toddles off to church to clear his conscience & gets an unchristian brawl over it...beats hasty retreat, and hey presto....cro117 is fish food :boom .
Hard to understand why this came about realy :shrug
