Solved Can't Buy Ammunition

Ahoy mateys!!! I'm playing the original version of the game and for any reasons, I can't buy this bloody ammunitions for my cannons! I can buy every item in the Stores in any island except ammo's. All my skills(10) and all abilities(done). And I have 3200 free space with enough gold to buy. At first, or in a new game it works fine(i can buy ammo) but then on the middle of the game this THING happens. Everytime. Please I need help. I love this game. I've already finished it 8 times but still want to play with better config.'s hehehe

I've configured the continue game play mod but i can't have enough fun because of this. Specially if i have 4 ships.

And are there any cheat codes for this version for unlimited ammo? So I won't keep boarding ships every time i'm out of gas 'cause i can't buy ammo from any stores. It ain't cool with me. Please help. Thank you.

unfortunately, I'm completely unable to help you with that, because I have not been playing the original PotC for several years. I remember it was buggy, and many things not working at all. :rumgone

That has been the very reason for some people to start modding the game, and they got something very fine running.

So, the best advice I can give you is to install Build 14 "New Horizons" and update it to 2.3 (you'll have to install 2.2 for that, too). I promise you will be able to buy ammunition, and it will be an entirely better game experience than the original game.
 
That sounds really strange. Have you tried our modpack yet? I don't think anybody here played the unmodified game for a good many years....

You don't need 2.2 for 2.3 to work. You do need 2.3 for the 2.4 WIP version to work though.

Thank you..but is there even any ammo cheat? I really want to keep playing this version 'till I get tired and bored of it..hehehe then maybe, I can install the New Horizons, actually I have that but I really don't want to play any other MODs yet. So as long as I keep finding something new to add, i'll continue playing dis 2003v,hehehe..so i really need some help with this thing. badly :modding:(
 
We added cheats in the modpack. And adding more ammo is quite possible with the console. Which also, we added in the modpack.
But in the unmodified game, there isn't much we can do. :(

Sad to hear that:( I understand..so..can you give me a link with all those different MODs and how to use it? :cheeky i have the mod14beta1(still, please post a reliable link in case mine won't work properly) but not sure how to use these specially with all that updating procedures. Sounds complicated.
 
The installation process is as simple as it possibly can be. You need these two:

CRUCIAL INSTALLATION TIPS:

1. You MUST install this on top of the unmodified stock game
Pirates of the Caribbean, released in 2003 by Akella.
The mod is NOT a standalone game!
2. You MUST install Build 14 Beta 2.1 Full first!!!
3. Allow the installer to run RunMe.bat upon completion
- DON'T install the game to Program Files,
otherwise Windows prevents it from installing correctly
Install to, for example, C:\Games\Pirates of the Caribbean

It gets a bit more complex when you try our WIP versions that are available on the forum, but you can just stay away from those until we release the real Build 14 Beta 2.5.

Thank you very much sir..oh wait, should i put the original files that had't been modified? i created a back up copy for every file i've modified like the characters_init.c file. i also added some stuff in there like the GiveItem2Character thing that my sister told me :D
 
If you modified only code files, it doesn't matter; the modpack removes all previously existing code anyway and overwrites it with the modded files.
 
I figured the "can't buy ammunition" thing already in the stock PotC.
Just change the amount when buying ammunitions in the initGoods file: PROGRAM/STORE
