Buy or Not to Buy

Is it worth it to buy this game?
My questions are mainly in the graphics department.
And how is the overal gameplay?
If someone could show me some screenshots, I would apriciate it.

Screen shots are all over the site. For what it's worth, the boat in my signature is a screen shot, 4 custom options and a `post-shot` edit of the missile.

OK, maybe this wasen't the best place to ask, but I had to start somewhere. OK, you are a fan site, but lets put that apartr shall we: Your gugment on

1- ship graphics (be honest)
2- person graphics (be honest)
3- background (be honest)
4- sity's and all teh other stuff
5- overall

The graphics of the shipboard swordfights are awesome but repetitive--only about three different scenes, plus a few added animations for when you fight big time pirates. The dancing graphics also are really nice. The large map and the graphics for the ships are pretty nice. Graphics in cities, and for land battles, are nothing special.

I love the game, but I liked the original which had virtually no graphics...

If you are looking for something comparable to a 1st person shooter, or KOTOR, or that kind of game, you may not really be into this one. The `fastest-paced` part of the game involves ballroom dancing, after all... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

I´ll start with overall: Don´t buy it if you´ve got important things to do! If you liked the original or Pirates! Gold, you´re running a mayor danger of getting hooked and not realizing how fast time goes by.

The boarding fights are repetetive, animation- like, but nicely done. I like them, as all other animated scenes (meeting the governor, dancing etc.).
The ships and sea battles, well, they DO look a bit weird to me, but I´m not much in the way of a graphic´s buff, I´ve got no big problem with that. To one who is, it might be one, though.

The menus are a bit dry, I liked the way Pirates Gold did it better.

If I were to make a suggestion, go into a video store and borrow it for one weekend and play it. If you don´t like it, you haven´t lost much, do you?
