build 11 bug

I was doing the quest where you got to run awey from the french iland whit tobias and that deserting captain, when you later on got to get out of the docks whit hes corvete under fort fire theres a huge bug.

the mod that does that ship stand in the dock randomy makes this very hard,

for me theres 2 frigates and a battleship to run for too.
now can y see how hard this is? i have to be close to them and by the time im outta the docks and into the sea i have litterary no sails left, no men left and no houl,

this is a big bug that needs to be fixed

Ok Iggly to make things easier get rid off the french ships at oxbay port before you do this mission so next time when you are running from the port you have to deal only with fort which is easy ( unless there is pirates close to you ) so reload early save game and do it . The other way which is more easier but requiers some changing the game files is by reducing the range of the fort cannon which will help you to run away without taking one shot and later in the game you may capture greenford fort with lugger <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" /> .
 
I did it! i completed it! wana know how???? my ship sunk and i used the life boat too get to redmond <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> ofcourse it was the french captains corvete so no lose for me <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />
 
Aye,at be a good feature in de new build which can save yer arse,as fer the corvette ye can outrun de French ships if ye have favourable winds,if not yer dead in the water <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
 
Yea! Glad you got it solved. I've barreled through that blockade a number of times, gotten sunk several, but just restarted again and managed to burst through. It's a toughie, all right, but I like challenge...

I think the key ist to sail directly at the French blockade. take whatever hits they give, go right by them and keep on going while they turn ot givec hase. This works well even at Adventurer.
 
First time I tried this was in my frigate and that's exactly what I did.
I got wasted taking a full barage from that entire French convoy. My sails were tattered, and I made it out on luck.

ENTER BUILD:

Second time I tried it, and my masts were blown clean off. I was a sitting duck and I wasn't more than a mile off shore. Start over ...

Third time I did it I used one of those rocks as cover and was able to get a clean getaway with almost no damage.


I will never forget the second time. It was as if Roger Wilco from Space Quest took over as Captain and gave the "I know what I'm doing" speech and got us in the thicket. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/tongue.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":blah:" border="0" alt="tongue.gif" />

I recall once doing a "sailto" to the furthest ship out to sea from the battle and then getting a good strong wind in my sails and running for the horizon. That strategy seemed to work well, but I felt like such a CHICKEN!!! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> So I went back and barreled through and got my masts shot off, HAHA!
