I can land only land 2 of all the added islands because the game will crash
near the island or 'moor' icon just doesnt work. I also can't land Isla Muelle because moor icon is not working. There are more some bugs i have noticed but I'm having problems to remember those <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />
 
The new islands mod is not entirely compatible with the latest Post Build 12 modpack. Some bugfixes that are in the most recent modpack are not yet in the new islands. I will be making an update file for that. I reckon these bugs can easily be fixed. Open up PROGRAM\Locations\init\mods\example.c and remove the "/*" and "*/" parts above and below this piece of code:

In fact, the bug of "moor" icons who do not work is normal. That is only because locations have not been "created" yet on these islands. There is no landing location "behind" the moor icon.
At this stage, only 3 news islands have landing beaches or ports and locations who have been added by using the "location cloning" method. these islands are Hispaniola, turks island and only one beach on cuba. These islands are not finished either and all other new islands do not have any locatkons.
When this mod was started, there were a lot of new stuffs who appeared at the same time. It was more judicious to wait than all those new stuffs were added in the game and all their bugs fixed before continuing to develop this mod.
Pieter had made an amazing work with the post build 12 modpack to add all the new mods. He also made compatible the new islands mod with the post build 12 modpack. Perhaps now the new islands mod could be continued. Obviously, in the absence of new models of locations, all the new locations will have to be added with the location cloning method like on turks and hispaniola. But we need a plan because the task is too big for one man if we want to add new locations and characters. I think it would be great if we could work together on this mod. We could choose together which locations to clone and how to bind them together. like that, we could create good news islands pleasant to explore. We could also choose together which new characters to add on the new islands and where to add them. There are a lot of new amazing characters who have been created by modders and it would be great if we could add them on new islands. are there some people who can write some good dialogs files and perhaps new quests ?

PS : here is the map of the russian morgan pack mod. It is the same map of the new islands mod except the names of the original islands who have been changed in this map :

I tried to ad new ports on some islands, 1 worked (cloning Fdf port) but if I landed I was in a rock! and antigua, st john`s doesn`t work either, you can`t land there.

There are no real new outside locations, but we could use the recoloured ones from the SLiB (A&M) mod instead. That will, at least, make them slightly different.
We might be able to just recreate the SliB mod islands. I have been unable to get a ship in that mod (I don't understand a word Russian), so I haven't been able to test out any of those new islands ingame. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

BTW: In the current Post Build 12 modpack with new islands, the ship berthing doesn't at all work properly. All new town names are shown as "error". I hope that you know how to fix that. I've had a look at it, but can't say I really understand.
Also: Some of the new island's characters have got some errors in their dialog files. The player character is called "error". And some things were changed to the itemtrading, so not the new islands' itemtraders don't do anything anymore.

Hi pieter,

The bug of the shipberthing is because you didn't put the kam_shipberthing_ship.c file of the "native" new islands pack in your post build 12 new islands pack. This file is in the PROGRAM folder and the new towns have been added in. That's why you have the "error" text in the interface. If you want i can mail you the file or put it on ftp <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />

I have noticed this bug. It is probably because the dialogs files of the traders of new islands were created before the post build 12 additions and they did not have been updated.

I've recently installed the New Islands mod and update and I'm really enjoying it so far. Great work there, Screwface. Eagerly awaiting your further updates to this mod.

I have noticed that there seems to be elements of dialogue missing. Nothing major, just your character's name in character dialogues, officers job names on the interface, country names on the interface as well as sightings on the world map. Something to do with names/titles maybe, but I'm no modder so I'm just guessing.

Has anyone else noticed this? Is this a bug? Is there a fix?

Just to make sure, I re-installed as follows:

1. Post Build 12 18/09/05
2. b12 update 02/10/05
3. New Islands Mod
4. New Islands Update

Any thoughts on this one?

I might have made a stupid mistake with the new islands update file. Please take the RESOURCE\INI\texts\Enlish\common.ini file from the most recent post Build 12 modpack and put it on top of your new islands release. That should work. I hope... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Doing what I said in my previous post should reinstate a lot of texts that have gone missing from the game after installing the new islands properly. However, there might still be some missing. I haven't tested anything yet... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Yeah, that seemed to fix some things... officers titles, country names on interface (haven't been on the world map yet), and possibly dialogues. Some things still missing that I've noticed are reputation on the relations interface "...is known as: <i>missing</i>", and "class" and distance descriptions in the spyglass. Haven't noticed anything else yet so far, but will keep you posted if I do.
