It certainly ought to be possible to complete "Tales of a Sea Hawk" with that version. Which, now I think about it, may actually be Beta 3.4 - the file which displays the version number on screen and in "compile.log" wasn't updated to say "3.4", so it claims to be Beta 3.3. The date "19 Jan 2015" shows that it's probably Beta 3.4.
There was one of the Build 14 Beta 3 versions (I think it was 3.2 and some versions of 3.3) where the section with the idol was really BIG BAD BUGGED.@Pieter Boelen: "error.log" shows something going wrong with "itemlogic.c", presumably to do with placing the idol. I wouldn't know how to sort that out even if it happened in Beta 4.1.
There is no reason that I can think of why the latest mod cannot be installed on Windows XP.i can't use version 4.1 iam xp user i cannot install
As far as I can tell from "compile.log", it claims to be Beta 3.3, but that's perhaps because Beta 3.4 never had "globals.c" properly updated - it claimed to be Beta 3.3 but dated January 2015. ModDB has Beta 3.4 available for download. There was one of the Build 14 Beta 3 versions (I think it was 3.2 and some versions of 3.3) where the section with the idol was really BIG BAD BUGGED.
Since not many people get that far very often, it took a long time for it to be discovered; I think we've got @Hylie Pistof to thank for confirming it!
Then it took a lot of trial-and-error on my part to finally fix it again, but that was far from easy.
So if he's using a version affected by that bug, then there just isn't a proper way to continue.
Would require console trickery to bypass the bugged point. But better by far would be to update to a version that doesn't have the bug.
It was an initialization problem in the main seadogs.c file that was being set wrong right at the start of the game.Do you happen to know which files needed to be fixed?
Not without a console bypass trick.is there is a chance ? to finish the game ?
