Big problem with SuperMod!

I've downloaded and installed SuperMod and both updates.
But when I load a game, I can't move and many other things are screwed up. Also, when I start a new game, right after the first dialog (when a guy hands me the map piece) the game crashes.

P.S.: Why is Blaze Shark changed to the guy from PotC???

First, did you:
1)Uninstall game
2)Run Starforce removal tool
3)Reinstall game
4)Install mods
5)Delete all savegames (Supermod v1.0 saves will NOT work with v1.1)
6)Reset keyboard commands to default

Once you have done all these things, the game should work for you...

P.S. Blaze was change by the author of the Supermod. Personally I think it's a big improvement over that blond-haired goober the game comes with. You can go into the character.init.c file and change him back if desired (do a forum search for the exact instructions)...
 
EDIT: I tried and it works. Only thing is that I have to start a new game :/ Can I somehow continue with my old saves, since I already invested like 30 hours in them and don't really want to do it all over again?

BTW, I managed somehow to get it running a bit and went into shipyard to see what ships are new. Since I don't really remeber what were there in the first place, can someone please tell me which ships are new. And also I noticed than on the end of the list there is one empty clickable space. Is that a bug just for me or is there supposed to be some ship?
