Any way to remove the HUD/Icons for clear screenshots ?

Is there some toggle I have missed somewhere that will allow me to switch the ship icons/compass/map off when in a sea battle. It would be great to get some uncluttered screenies for my desktop or a screensaver.

Yes. Look in the options menu under Sea, IIRC.

I am playing on the realistic sailing setting at apprentice level. Is it only greyed out if you finish the quest and continue playing via the mod side quests ?

Did you try it on land?
It only works when not already using that interface, IIRC.

Thanks Nathan - but that still leaves the ship status icons in the bottom left corner - can those be toggled off somehow ?

Probably. You can try, in BattleInterface.c, finding
BattleInterface.ShowCommands = InterfaceStates.BattleShow.Command;
and change it to
BattleInterface.ShowCommands = false.

Actually, looking at this again I think that would just prevent me from being able to issue commands to other ships in a battle so I think I will leave the ship icons there. Thanks anyway.
