Mod Release Age of Pirates: Caribbean Tales - Historical Immersion Supermod

I am the only one, who has a terrible download speed on moddb when trying to download the mod? Also, my other downloads are fine, except this one.
 
Please forgive me if this is not the correct place to post this question on an issue I am having with the otherwise amazing Caribbean Tales Historical Immersion Supermod version 5.0 (standalone).

Occasionally, but annoyingly often, when I depart a port the speed of my ship is very slow, usually just over 1 knot even when having the wind behind me. My GOG copy of the game (Sea Dogs Caribbean Tales) with version 4.0 of the Supermod does not seem to have this issue.

Is this a bug? Am I being stupid with something?
