Well I'm trying to defeat those soldiers in the dock when I'm in the city but I just can't,the dificulty slider does not work(I tried to lower the difficulty but still nothing works) I don't have my officer with me to help nor any of my crew so it's me against 6 or seven soldiers at nearly the most dificult option.....I have my officers picture showing up but I don't see him anywhere. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

In any event, the best thing you can do for yourself when you are outnumbered is to get into a bottleneck where you only have to deal with one attacker at a time. Around barrels, near boxes, by a cart, whatever... Keep it so that you are only dealing with one enemy at a time. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

Make sure you keep your block up - and have a good sword rated for good blocking. Time your attack - wait for your assailant to strike at you, and then you strike at them. Strike, block... Wait for attack, then strike and block again.

Skull and Lady Cat's swordfighting advice is really good, and the only thing that I can think to add is "patience". I think a lot of people try to "button smash" their way thru the swordfights, but the block in the game usually will keep you pretty safe from incoming attacks, and once you get a sense of your opponent or opponents' attack timing, you can shoot out an attack and pull back into a block before they can hit you. (Even with two or three opponents, or more, focusing their attacks on you. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" /> ) As long as you're holding the block, and you're patient and focusing your attacks on each of your opponents until their gone, you should be able to get thru most fights.

One thing that I always change in my games is that I don't use the spacebar as the "attack" button, I change it to the "X" key because that works better for me when alternating between attacking and blocking.

I mannaged to kill them all,I tried like 100 times before I mannaged to focus all my patience and focus my attacks but in the end I killed them.Yes I can save at the dock thanks god,I thought that I will have to go through the fort again <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

EDIT:I did not want to start a new thread,instead I'll ask here,after the temple collapses I receive an orb,when should I use it?at the start of the fight with the Black Pearl or after I've done some dammage to it?

Regarding the Orb, you can certainly use it at the start of the fight with the Black Pearl, or if you want to hold off for a bit that is okay too, either way is usually fine.

The first time I played the Black Pearl fight scenario, I didn't even know that you had to activate the orb to get it working. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mybad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":facepalm" border="0" alt="mybad.gif" />

Needless to say, I ran out of ammunition before I could do enough damage to sink it, and then it sank me! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/piratesing.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shock" border="0" alt="piratesing.gif" />

There are a couple of fellows around here who have sunk the Black Pearl without using the orb, I'm not one of them <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/oops3.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:ops2" border="0" alt="oops3.gif" /> , but if you feel like a challenge you could try it. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sailr.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":sail" border="0" alt="sailr.gif" />

One thing that I think would make the Black Pearl fight better would be if you could board it, which you can't <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":c" border="0" alt="mad.gif" /> , and fight it out with the skeletons on the ship's deck.

EDIT: SirChristopherMings,regarding the ammunition,I had 5500 bombs and that was sufficient to sink it,the first time of my fight I did not use the orb too so I made great deal of dammage to the Pearl it had 7 HP left but then I found out about my new abbility to use that orb so I started again,but in any case 5000 of bombs will do it <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />
Catalina:I was full of potions and rums it's just that they mannaged to kill me before I reuped my health,sometimes I killed nearly all of them but when only one left he killed me with one blow because he had a critical attack and used alot his pistol,that I think was a Quad barrel.Anyway I mannaged to kill them all by hitting and retreating away so it's no problem now.Thanks for the suggestion because it was by mistake I had so many potions. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

I nearly sunk this ship without an orb it took like 40 minutes to decrease the HP to 7 but they started to repair the ship so I thought that I should start again with the orb working,and so I did. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/doff.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":doff" border="0" alt="doff.gif" />

By the way,what do you do in the game after you finnish the main quest?Are there any other quests involvig dialog and ship sinking?

I wrote up that ending after sinking the BP - Returning Clement to the Lighthouse, and Danielle and Nathaniel on Redmond. There are plenty of other quests to play around with - if you did not get Fred Bob as an officer, you should do that! Go to Falaise de Fleur and talk to the guy standing by the foot of the stairs to the harbormaster's office. His name is Orable Caron, and he's got information if you give him a gold coin... He's annoying, but keep talking to him and eventually he'll ask you if you need a boatswain... Follow his directions... <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":yes" border="0" alt="yes.gif" /> <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

After you hire Fred Bob, deliver the letter he gives you to a mysterious lady on Isla Muelle... (read the quest book)...
