A little bit of gold?

Hey all,

My copy of PotC came today, so i put build 13 on it. I always like to start my first game with a bit more gold, just so i can buy a few good things to get me started.

So i went into that characters_init notepad, it took me a while to find what i wanted to, but i found it in the end. I put 3000 gold in and started a new game. When i started, i had a look to see if i had done it rite, but i didnt have 3000 gold <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

All i want to know is, what is crews gold (i think thats where my gold went), and what do i have to edit so i get the gold?

Hiya <b>felcoN</b>! Open BuildSettings.h - it is in the main game folder. I believe there is an option to set the gold there <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> Along with many other options that you might find useful to tweak.

try the InternalSettings.c as well. i think that the money is adjusted there. it's in the program folder.

I'm not entirely sure that the start gold parameter in BuildSettings.h is still used properly. You can enable the cheatmode in BuildSettings.h as well and then you can use the Numpad 6 button to get yourself more gold. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" />

What is crew gold by the way? When I get the gold from a quest, from a conquered ship or from trading, the money goes to CREW GOLD not to my personal gold. I have only 1850 gold and it isn't raising, but the crew has about 70 000. I've noticed that I can use the crew gold for my purposes so I just want to know what's it for and why do I have it along with my personal money.

Yes it is, but very slowly. Player starts the game with 500 personal wealth so your wealth has gone up.

If you crew is on salary, then you get paid very little each month, along with them.
If you have signed letters, then at some point, around 2 months I think, you should divide the plunder.
The amount you get is greater, but then you have to start a new expedition with only 20% of the crew money you had before. Just go plunder some more.

It is the money used to pay salaries or it is the plunder to be divided, your choice.
