Now there's something that's missing from the game. A ship would heel over up to about 15 degrees depending on the direction and strength of the wind. Sometimes the lower gun ports would be under water, especially in rough seas. Sometimes you'd have to carry less sail so your ship wouldn't heel over too much.
Unfortunately, that's one bit of realism we probably don't have access to because it would be handled by the game engine. That and getting cannon smoke to drift with the wind, something we've tried but failed to accomplish. <sigh>
