That sounds great! I thank you and your brother very much! Please save the pictures as ORF. Now its easy, as my pictures shows: 50% overlappig of the pictures you made, a few series in different heights from all sides and pictures of the gun details. And if you like: A few pictures of the 1737...

[NEED SUPPORT] Photographs of cannons in the exhibition on Captain Balchin's 1737 Victory at the Historic Dockyard Portmouth

I have written the people mentioned above regulary from 2015 to 2018 but I got unfortunately just a little information. They replied, that measurements and pictures take time. Time they dont had back then. And sure, I have written to them again before I talk to @Pieter Boelen. I started this...

[NEED SUPPORT] Photographs of cannons in the exhibition on Captain Balchin's 1737 Victory at the Historic Dockyard Portmouth

Help will be very great. Just for interest: I edited my both survey-papers in my post. These ones I sent 2018 to the Historic Dockyard Portsmouth, Senior Curator Christopher Gale. In 2015 when I started the original elaboration about the 24-pounder I had contact with the collections officer...

[NEED SUPPORT] Photographs of cannons in the exhibition on Captain Balchin's 1737 Victory at the Historic Dockyard Portmouth

Hello everyone, (theme moved over from Discord) it's been a long time since I was last able to take care of my beloved hobby of historic wooden sailing ships. Now there is a little movement in the matter. I have contacted @Pieter Boelen to follow up on my 2018 scientific paper. At that time...

    Good Morning Sailors!!

Thank you very much for your reply. Please do not stress with my question. I just used the chance to ask a native Spain with an historic degree. Regarding guns and treasure content its a huge difference in common and scientific sources. Those recordings uses more than a few pics and...

    Good Morning Sailors!!

Dear @Alexandros, (thank you very much for mention @Pieter Boelen) great to hear that you combine your historical knowledge with computergraphic visualization too. Indeed, the border becomes very small what a game is and what an scientific visualization - but thats a huge advantage. Thank you...

Need Help New attempt in CryEngine

Hello Pirates, there is a long way behind us but behind every pirate is a much bigger one. When I started my CryEngine MOD "Drake`s Legacy" in 2012, I had big dreams. My dream of great quality in a great engine acceleratet me but long term motivation of team members and the missing CryEngine...

    Paused Bava's HMS Southampton-32 guns, 1757

Looks great but you should change the UV at the bow gratings to horizontal. Losing an HDD is very sad and the bigger the amount of datas becomes, the bigger the effort for backup and reserve backup. I store currently 2x 14TB (3x4TB plus 1x 2TB) as backup and reserve backup. Due the different...

    carriages ... ship guns

Bava is in the house, you've done the calculation without the Saxon yellow, called "Freiberger or Meißner Gelb", which was in the 17th and 18th century the cheapest color in my state. We cast iron guns for EIC, but deliver no carriages :D Thanks for your hints, you're the man ;) But by the way...

    carriages ... ship guns

Maybe you laugh but when I researched a local castle I noticed the ~red painted inner sandstone wall in a (one) old part of a lower battery in the casemates. I did not think anything of it. Until this question. Maybe the smoke and red paint results in a good contrast during reload, fire and aim...

    carriages ... ship guns

I've read this in relationship with the Santissima Trinidad and remember they said "red was better of the blood". Ultimately it is not clear left in a source why the inner planks was red. The idea behind "blood" is for sure just a guess because the side planks wasnt primary affected and the deck...

    carriages ... ship guns

Sorry for late reply. Charles Trollope mentioned that colors for the English ordnance was red too, until the "H.M.S." Sign were introduced. So the Victory of 1737 had red ones, the H.M.S. Victory of 1744 had yellow ones. They was red as same as the inner planks in reason of blood during fights...

Thank you very much @Pieter Boelen for your reply! Ups, a few mistakes in English are like ants in the living room. :rumgone What font you would recommend? Times? I need a common font for compatibility. Why I should not consider PA! on my website ;) You know, the seafaring community is not...
