    That crashes on me, too, with the 3ds (while Max can read it). Sorry I can't right now find any format that Milkshape reads to convert it to, but I know Lass has Milkshape, so maybe she can give you one that works. Or you might try Deepexploration (available here on the ftp) to convert it yourself.

    Where can I get a VRML plugin for Maya 6?

    By theory should only matter which faces are over which others. But with POTC models AFAIK *nothing at all* matters, as long as it's there, it can consist of a large number of zeroes and still will be fine. So copying it from any other model will most likely do. Never got it really figured out...

    If you're talking about 'extra data' as the tool wants to read on vrml import, that would be the BSP tree (as you made me realize). Locators can be written to a text file with the tool and from there copied back into the model at a later tiime.

    About the skirted models - not sure I get the problem: if you convert them to wrl, edit in C4D, and convert back to gm *without* changing the animation (that is using towngirl.ani which points to woman.an) you should be allright. Is that not so ? Then please explain what precisely you did...

    No problem, I think I've made up my mind to use XML anyway. BTW, does anyone know XSLT ? With that we could probably generate wrl (or obj) and all sort of other neat stuff from the XML without any real coding, just by applying a transform. Mind, I'm no good at it, but it's real wizardry...
