Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

The box locators are in the sulphur locator file. The standard locator has not been changed since 2007, according to the file date. I've added a single quest locator that shouldn't mess up anything. I don't think the normal locator file has ever been used anywhere. Perhaps you can help me with...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

@Jack Rackham I'm adding locators to the general locator file of TempleRoundInside. This shouldn't concern The Gold-Bug because it seems to have its own sulphur locator file which of course I won't touch. I don't think the location has ever been used at all except for the sulphur part. Still, I...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

Ah, so it's a completely different line of code and has nothing to do with questchar. Got it :onya The difference being that I am a huge beetles fan but never had anything to do with any monkeys. For the game, this doesn't make any difference of course. The rest of Aruba should just be writing...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

Here he is, equipped with blade308, I took another look at the file and didn't find any other weapon I liked. He will make a different appearance depending on a decision you make much, much earlier - at least it feels much, much earlier because I have written a billion quest cases since then...

    The temple bug

You're probably talking about the original game without mods. Shouldn't make much of a difference in that case, but just for clarity. When you first enter the temple it first goes down a few steps, then along a short corridor into a room with some rubble at the floor and three passages. There...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

Splendid! Name suggestions are welcome for a greedy, decaying pirate who died in the cave where he stashed his treasure and is still somehow guarding it. Also suggestions for a suitable sword. Blaze takes a French Nobility Sword from Captain Bonamy in the Corsair quest, so it would be suitable...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

@Jack Rackham any objection if the Captain Kidd model makes a small appearance in my quest? If you want it exclusively for the Gold-Bug, I'll use a more standard pirate skeleton model instead. @Grey Roger once suggested that pirates could have hidden their treasure in the new Aruba cave, and I...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

That's where I changed all locators from my previous screenshot to last night. The spike circle things don't look too well suited to contain anyone. As for the previous cage / lookout post, it would be interesting to know if anybody could be placed on top of it, but I doubt it, since the...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

Thanks, it looks all very good. A bit darker and foggier in the morning, and I haven't seen it mid-day yet because of how the the quest actrion sets the time. The location can easily be in the general file. As far as I'm concerned, the offering room doesn't even need to be removed, but you...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

The y-value was indeed 0 and when side-stepping into the cage, the player character also "jumps" to a slightly higher level. The characters nearby (on the ground next to the cage) have a y-value of around -0.71, so I changed the one locator inside the cage... ...and he's still hovering above...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

A goto locator inside a non-walkable area (using sidestep and then the coordinates through console) places the character floating two metres above ground for some reason. Which column of the locator would have to be adjusted to get him back on the ground? I don't see much logic in the numbers...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

Here they are. Love the loading screen for the wreckage by the way!

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

I placed the fonar-locators in the sacred forest differently. Not on the edge of bushes, more in places where the terrain is flat and plain. Now they're much better visible, at least when you get somewhat close. From a distance, they can't bee seen, and moving character and camera around them...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

Here they are. Those are only the textures that GM Viewer lists when I open the main location file in GM viewer - there would be lots more for tree.gm and xiao.gm, those two files are the trees and all the other decorations there. Because I also just sent you the texture files corresponding with...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

That's how I always do it. So while I never had streetlights that disappear from a certain angle, maybe the fonars I made with my characters coordinates disappear because the game is not used to have them basically on the ground. I'll do some more testing (perhaps raising them a bit) this...
  16. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

This works in principle, but the lights only seem to be visible from certain angles. When moving the camera or character, they can quickly become absolutely invisible. I need to test other placements that perhaps are not near bushes, and if that doesn't work I could narrow the areas you have to...
  17. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

Thanks, that's interesting. I added your files and also have better lighting now, in fact the wreckage cove almost looks like a different location now, a much better one. But the water looks the same for me as it ever did, rather bland and flat and grey-ish. Of course it does, I didn't change...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

Hello Jack, I think we haven't seen each other so far this year :cheers Not me - I'll just let them stand around the fire. As I said, it's not the end of the world, even though it would have been nice if it worked. There are the files, textures according to GM Viewer. If you notice any...

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

For clarification: I'm talking about sitting on the ground, or in other words: PoorType and about doing it with the player. And all my tests indicate that PoorType simply doesn't work for the Beatrice models. For example: executing LAi_SetPoorType(Pchar); through console makes player character...
  20. BathtubPirate

Devlin Opera for the 65742th time

I'll look into it, but something in my memory tells me that I already tried it once and it didn't work for the Beatrice models. As for loading screens? Do you have time to make these? I guess it would save a lot of time since I don't have a good image editing programme and even when I had, I...
