    Bug Buggy Mess

@Grey Roger Ah, so the difference in reputation is the problem. That is interesting. Does the reputation of the officers change over time? So the gunners per default do NOT contribute their skills? Didn't know that. And it's awkward, because everyone else does. And I certainly didn't toy...

    Bug Buggy Mess

Yikes, oh the bugs! Hi there – I lately got around to play a bit of POTC again. So I installed it's latest edition (completely a new installment – including the stock game) and over the course of several games ran into a few oddities, that seemed to stack up the longer I played any given...

    Fixed Infinite crew to hire

Hey guys, I encountered a little bug. I was in the tavern on the pirate settlement on Hispanola. I looked to add to my crew. For some reason I could keep going (simply by asking the tavern keeper again), even though the counter for available sea men was already -6. So it seems that one can hire...

Need Help Jack Sparrow Story - Boarding & Treasure Quest

I am quite sure that I always had this issue in the unmodded stock game. Edit: Yip, my memory did not betray me. Here is an excerpt from an online guide for the original game, which addresses the issue. "2. Lost and Duplicate Officers Several situations result in permanent disappearance of...

    Need Help Governor Quest Problem

@ Hylie It should be the newest version of Build. Downloaded it just like a week or two ago. So if there was no update since then, it should be the newest version. @ all The issue might be unaddressed so far because technically it is not a bug. It is more of a design flaw. Whenever a...

Need Help Jack Sparrow Story - Boarding & Treasure Quest

As far as I know, having more than eight officers in the passenger list resulting in vanishing officers has been an issue in the stock game already. The best way to work around it is by avoiding having a crowded passenger list. By the time one has eight guys in the passenger list, he or she will...

    Need Help Governor Quest Problem

Hi there, I lately found some time to play some Build again, downloaded the latest version and now I ran into a rather annoying problem. I took another governor quest in St. Martin and was ordered to find and defeat a little 12- or 16-gunner. By the time I circumnavigated the island without...

Mod Release Build 14 Beta 3 Progress

Is it possible now, to have several games/profiles going? I know that used to be a source for problems. But is it possible now with the latest improvements or is it still an issue?

Mod Release Build 14 Beta 3 Progress

Noticed (possibly) two more bugs. 1.) After I took some ships, I noticed that in a few instances the strength/health/whatever of the sails was shown as above 200 (like 333). Is that even possible? I always was under the impression that strength of sails is 200 max. So is this a bug? 2.) I am...

Mod Release Build 14 Beta 3 Progress

I sacked Port Royal in my current Johan Elting game. I decided to not plunder the city, but to make it a city run by pirates. After that my relations with England went from minus 60 something up to zero. Looks like a bug to me. Or were they just glad that I didn't walk away with their cash?

    Queen Anne's Revenge

Guineaman isn't really a ship type of it's own. It basically just means "slave ship". So any ship used and possibly modified for slave trade could be considered a guineaman - regardless of it's type.

    Question about the weapons locker.

All excellent grade? I bet the local blacksmith smiles like a baby, when you step through the door every now and then.^^ "I need these 327 rapiers to be top notch quality each .... what do I owe you?"

    Queen Anne's Revenge

Don't tell me. I am currently playing as Johan Elting and kick eveyone's ass on sea with that Xebec. :ship

    Queen Anne's Revenge

Okay, that explains it. Don't get me wrong. I am aware the chances being fairly low. I was just wondering if anybody ever had eyes on any account of a xebec being in the Caribbean.

    The Fighting System

Nice ideas so far in this thread. If you want to implement these ideas with diverse fighting styles and actions dependent on one's weapon(s) of choice, then my recommendation for melee fighting would be: Ditch the RPG elements completely. Why? Because the more RPG-ish fighting in a game is, the...

    Sea Battles

Hey guys - sorry for the thread necromancy. But I have an idea. How about that one can determine which guns fire and which not, as soon a a ship features more than one deck of cannons? In naval warfare in the age of sail one big factor was if the lower battery deck could even fire or not, when...

    Question about the weapons locker.

Even with weapon degrade on it will be quite a while until your weapons break. Replacing worn down weaponry will not cost much (if anythying), since you will pick up fairly good weaponry left and right as the game proceeds. Just put in some decent blades in fine quality and you will be .... well...

    Queen Anne's Revenge

I was looking through the ships in the game and realized that you guys have the Queen Anne's Revenge implemented .... as a pirate galleon. But the Queen Anne's Revenge in reality was a fleuyt. And since fleuyts are in the game, I was wondering why you made it a galleon. Another thing: xebecs...

WIP Pirates Odyssey: To Each His Own

Yeah, it sure makes us sailing nerds happy. But it gives the games a very dated look and feel. Which will ultimately mean that many of 'em will not make it from the shelf.

WIP Pirates Odyssey: To Each His Own

Hmmm ... looking at this footage it seems that they still use many of the very same ambient set pieces, that they already had in POTC. Some jungle passages etc. look exactly the same - only a tad more polished. Man - that's lazy.^^
