    go F2, to your character--click on "Nations" in the top middle--then to the right bottom it will say change flag...you should see your French flag there and you can switch it to pirate or the other national flags if you've unlocked them.

    yeh well I made the mistake of saving it where my last save was right when I got free roam after getting the navigator, so I had to start all the way back over, now my crew is bout to mutiny on me....I have 135K and my ship costs (crew, repairs all that stuff is 363K when monthly wages come...

    really? in CoAS you didn't have to have the "minimum" sailors, I finally got a boarder, and was able to take a ship so I could hopefully sale, but, was low on men. this getting to be a pain the a$$. can hardly level up, pirates and Spanish keep constantly attacking and killing me with 4+ ships...

    I'm actually enjoying it, the start off quest is difficult (is like peter blood in CoAS) you cant just go out and free roam sailing. you got to build up $$ to buy a ship, crew and navigator. the(NPC's) are pretty cool the uniforms are better, the weapons are better, the merchant trinkets, ships...
