    ship types

You seam to forget something. We are working in our spare time on the ships. We aren't 100% fulltime working on HoO. But it would still take about half a year for a professional 3d artist to build a ship, if not more. The Endeavour was bought by the admirality for £2,840. 10s. 11d and refitted...

@Post Captain What about xebecs? I know they were used only in the Mediterranean but haven't they been among the fastest sailing vessels back then?

    navigation

Hmm and when I'm leaving Cadiz and heading west without adjustment, where will I land? Maybe some where on Hispaniola like Columbus? :p Is navigation really required can't I just go where my nose is pointing? :bonaparte

    Paused Bava's HMS Southampton-32 guns, 1757

Looks impressive! Well, I allways thought that the knees are the most anoying parts of the ship, I see you got some nice rounded knees :p The ship is really beautiful, seems like she's ready soon :)

    sailing realism

@Thagarr I think it should be possible if we split that animation in different parts. Which would be triggered and played simultaneously. @Captain Murphy Do you know what the maximum joint count per object in Unity is? In Cryengine it was about 255... My animation has about 500 if I'm correct...

    WIP HMS Bellona (1760 version)

Looking very good so far. I'm getting the strange feeling that my Endeavour isn't accurate enough.... :bounce Could you post some wireframes? About the same images as above and maybe a gun port close up? I'd appreciate that. P.S. get rid of the surfaces, they look awful, and get back to the...

Doing a trip to the Australian National Maritime Museum

What kind of camera do you have and what type of objective do you have? For Cook: It would be nice to have something like that: http://www.3d.sk/photos/search/query//thumb/small/standard/1/premium/1/category-11/51-60/category-69/Head/category-113/Man/category-145/White/page/4 Btw James Cook...

Doing a trip to the Australian National Maritime Museum

@Red Back Dude Is it possible to make some images in the hold? And could you take some images from the oven in the great cabin? Also, if the wax figure of James Cook is on the vessel, could you take some images from his face? Front and side view with an 100mm objective, if it's a full format...

    WIP HMS Bellona (1760 version)

I think we should keep all original measurements/distances. The bounding box of the player should be reasonable, like a average man during that time, and not 2x1x1 meters like in current games. Maybe 1.7x0.8x0.4m? The Bellona looks awesome so far!
