    Well, you don't get killed after six months. And you can sail into friendly ports. And you get a portion of all the fleet's prize money without having to do anything. And most of the people you run into don't want to kill you. And you get a nice roomy 74 gun. And when you capture an enemy merchant it's perfectly legal. And you just smell better.

    At the local pirate festival last year I wuz standing in one of the tavern tents ogling the wenchs working the counter selling beer, wine, and ale. There was a fellow sitting in a corner playing a mandolin and singing. Then one of the stage performers wandered in and they started singing. Quickly a bunch of us were singing this very song. :0)
