Bug SuperMod Bugs?

Yep, surely enough it is. That bug isn't the fault of SuperMod. That would happen even in the stock game.

Hello everybody!

This isn't my first time here, even though i've just registered, i've been following this site for quite a while.

I bought the game like many other hopefulls when it first hit the market, but left it on the shelf due to all of its buginess. Yesterday i picked it up again for a little gaming again.

Anyways, to my problem:

I installed the SuperMod (which seems great by the descriptions) and went on to play the game. However, when i left the port i sailed around a bit i got into a fight with some pirates. They had the wind in their favour, so i turned my side to them and waited until they got in the range of my bombs.

When they did, i opened fire. Instead the side firing a volley and starting to reload again, they fired continuesly like machineguns until all the cannons on that side in my ship were destroyed. I have/had the best cannons money could buy, and the gunner's level is 7. I turned my ship, and every side of my ship had the same event happening. The funny thing was that even when my guns were firing and i turned my ship during the fire, the guns would fire at the same spot of sea.

Also, when the enemy sloop fired its bow cannons, the water splashed around me like he had just unleashed a volley of Man-O-War's broadside. I don't think they had that many cannons on the bow... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/huhh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":eek:k" border="0" alt="huhh.gif" /> Anyways, i got to try to board one of the ships, but when i pressed F3 a CTD hit me and that was it.

In another incedent (had this happen multiple times), my enemys ships are really deadly. I had my Corvette attacking three pirate ships (sloop & two other small ships). Having the wind on my side, I decided to board some of them instead of engaging in some cannonball-exchange.

But they didn't want let me get close, so the second i got in the range of cannonballs, the 1st ship blew 1/3 of my crew, sails (lost the middle mast) and hull with one volley. The second did the same, and so did the third. My ship was sinking so fast i didn't even have time to turn it.

So most of the time i don't even have time to take a shot. I fear that this kind of enemies are going to make me the most cowardly pirate ever seen, since i have no desire to fight enemies i don't even have time to take a shot at.

I've installed the SuperMod and its updates 1,2 and 3. From the official patches i've installed the 1st patch. Any info needed to solve this, just ask and i'll get it if i can.

If i can't solve these, i'm afraid it's going back to the shelves again. I'd REALLY like to at least take a stab at this mod... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Never mind.

It seems that the machinegun-problem might have related to the official patch, since after i uninstalled the game and all the patches naturally, i installed the game and the SuperMod + all the updates to it but not the official patches. And the problem was gone. As well as the "one-shot-one-kill" enemies. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bookish.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":mm" border="0" alt="bookish.gif" />

The CTD when trying to board didn't go away, however, when i just started a new career it hasn't been around. Sucks when not able to use my old saved progress, but i guess i'll just have to live with it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
 
About updates for SuperMod.

Yes, Cyberops is still working on that and several other projects. He was also having some construction work done on his home, so wasn't able to access computer and internet as much as he'd have liked.

He has jumped in occasionally though, letting us know we haven't been forgotten.

Last statement I remember from him hinted that the next update for Supermod would be somewhere right before or just after the new year.

Sometime in january i will be releasing an update, playlogic i dont see how logic they are but anyway they just released another patch version 1.5 which is not even compatible with 1.43 it's freaking terrible to say the least, so more work to get all that is good out of it and add it to the supermod.

I found a minor bug in SuperMod (version 3) that AFAIK has not been reported yet, so I thought this would be a good place. My apologies if this has already been corrected for version 4 and I just missed it.


When you visit the whores at the brothel, you are awarded with + 100 experience. This experience is correctly applied to your total exp, but if it pushes you past your level it doesn't trigger a "Level Up" event. You have to wait until you get exp by a traditional method (completing a mission, sinking a ship, sailing through a storm, etc...) before you can get your level to increase. Again, not a huge deal, just putting it out there.

I will continue to report other bugs that I find that haven't been reported yet in this thread unless someone has a better suggesting for bug tracking. Thanks again! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" />
 
Hi all!

I just started a new game and I install the supermod + update 1,2,3...I started like pirate and all the nation hate me...
So I think I found something could be bugs or whatever...
After capturing a ship and go to pillage screen - where you swap/capture the ship there are missing all the dates about ships...only the goods are displayed...
I try to enter in a town after I park my boot (in the other side of the island) and moor I take the path in jungle - enter the town - and when I come back I push F3 to go to the boot and after that my boot was teleported in front of the town and the fort cannons shut me....very nasty....I'm thinking if I try to enter from the jungle I can use the store or something but didn't work...is working like sneaking...

I captured a ship and I gain a new weapon "musketon" it's a supermod weapon or a standard game weapon?...
that weapon are without picture...???

If anybody knows something about that...<img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dunno.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":shrug" border="0" alt="dunno.gif" />

and we're still waiting...............for a fix!
You sneak into town by sailing close to the Island, when an icon will appear
on the top with all the other ones i. e. sailto etc. Using that one you'll finish
up in the port like allways with the difference of a lot of angry people trying to
cut you into little pieces and nobody wants to sell you anything or even talk
to you. I think you can go to the tavern, if you make it. The answer is:
CAPTURE the town and make it your colony!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/duel_pa.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":ixi" border="0" alt="duel_pa.gif" />
 
I'm sailing in the other side of the island...it's happened in San Juan...and in that part of the island appear the icon "moor" close to a small beach...I more and I take the path from the jungle and when I come back to go to the ship I was teleported in front of the town...
I'm using the same method to St.Kitts but nothing happened...mean I more there in the other side (where the icon appears) of the island and when I come back I go to the ship in the same place...
The question is ...if I use that way why I can't use the store in that town?...because I don't sneak in town - only then I can't use the store ...or that solution work like sneaking?
I'm playing like pirates hate but all nations...and I can't use the store in all islands.

Ok I see that in some island appear a "men"...witch gain access to all building in that island (mean tavern, store, shipyard)...but that guy appear only in some island (San Martin, Guadalupe, Martinique, Brigetown, Monsaratt, Santiago Vega, Isla Mora)...and I understand that quy is a super mod addition...but what happened in the rest of the island ...is that guy there and I missing him or really are missing?

I have another question...the super mode change something in the crew + officers salaries?...because I see when I'm pushing F2 in the page with "character" appear all income and all payment according for 1 month...
so about the officer salary it's ok (if I sum all salary result the total amount specificated) but if I assign a captain appear to that officer salary + 25%...also for all transaction I made the crews salary increase ...I don't know witch is the percent but at the end of the month if I gain an overall income 70000 credits I must pay something like 60000 credit (Crew + officers)...

Also the picture for Brig Royal are missing...

Also I found to buy "the galileo galilei telescope" what you can do with that telescope...because down the picture write that telescope can be used just to see the nation...not the rest of the stuff like a good glasses...and cost a lot of credits...?
 
Ok...in the menu where is write "sail to"...appear "guadelupa bay"...that's the place where you can more and take the path in jungle to the town...and when come back you can go to the ship in the same place...
I don't know what's happened to me when I come back my ship was teleported in front of the town

Hi @ all,

I recently Installed AoP fresh on my PC with this wonderfull Supermod and all the Updatest which are currently aviable. Including the new Update 4. I've the german version of AoP.

I've a funny bug with the new update 4 that became terrible to me after a while.
When I fire my cannons, they don't stop firing and they fire as fast as a railgun, till they explode.

Did anybody else got that bug?
And how can I solve that cracy bug???!

Please HELP ME Cyberops!!!

I have a clean install with Supermod up to update4.Once I've installed the latest Supermod update my framerate dropped considerably. Especially when sieging colonies or attacking more than one ship(patrols, war patrols). The framerate became something like frame by frame.My video card is a Geforce6600 GT Extended Edition from Leadtek so I guess it shouldn't be a problem(wasn't a problem until update4) I also can confirm the cannon problem, but for me this ended up in a crash to desktop. The beeping problem it's still there, but not as often as before(ends up usually with CTD).
 
i too am having the crazy cannon firing problem. installed aop fresh, didnt update it with any of the official patches. i have all the current supermod patches, up to update 4, and have only changed the characters.c file to give me more experience and money off the start. when i press fire, my cannons fire all their balls, and then continue to fire until all cannons on that side are destroyed. any help would be great, thanks.
