Need Help Smuggling for Thomas O'Reily

Hi,

So... I made a huge mistake when I was doing some work for mister O'Reily. I managed to sink the ship at Port Royal, with great help from the fort, by the way. Is there a way to reset/remove/fail the quest? I have been browsing the forum for some time now and didn't find anything to explain that.

There must be a way, but unfortunately I cannot look into it until at least after the weekend.
