My son has this game (Alpha) and it looks intriguing. The 3D modelling is cartoon like but the sea graphics are awesome looking. There are several realism aspects to the sailing as well. Sail up to dock, anchor or pull up anchor, tweaking the shape of the sails and more. Not sure about the strategics aspects of the game yet though. Of course being cartoon like the ship models are not faithful to dimensions or paint schemes. Islands look like toy Lego towns. It seems to be geared more toward fun then simulation. The intent is for multi-player where larger ships will need other players as crew. This will add a new level of experience to the pirate gaming community. Due to be released in a few months.

Dang, only for Windows 10 and if you are buying it for the XBOX One, you'll likely have to pay for that darn gold. D:

I'm just worrying about the content and how your crew will influence your experience. This looks like a "Only with friends"-MP so far, where you will likely only get chaos if you want to venture out with randoms.
Of course you can play it alone, but then you just have a small boat. :(

Playing with friends once and a while seems like great fun to me. HAVING to play with friends will be an impossibility most of the time. :(

I saw a live stream of some folks at IGN playing in the Beta. One had a sniper rifle which made me cringe then when the reload animation played, all it did was drop a ball down the barrel and that was it. Totally geared for fun and not simulation. :D

    Okay, my decision stands.

I'll only buy it if one of my friends buys it. I absolutely refuse to go on adventures with strangers, especially as you have to organize who does what on the ship.
