Arr! It be wid much trepidation dat Fred Bob be installin' his new SMP on his lowly, ol' `coal-fired` PC, but low an' behold an' shazam, it be runnin' purty good so far! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

Me Specs:

Dell Precision 220
Intel P3 733 MHz CPU
256 MB of RAM
nVidia GeForce2 with nVidia 6.5.7.3 driver
Samsung `DVD-ROM`
Windows XP SP2

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

<img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheers" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Was thinking of investing my doubloons on this...but my weedy machine (Dell PIII 800) had me trembling in my seaboots at thought.

So runs ok? Still runs ok?

Most excellent news.

Running it on this until I get my other PC a new mother board:
P3/733
512MB
Geforce2 MX400
XP SP2
Object detail set at half
World detail set at full
Shadows and shaders turned off
800x600

Everything is very playable except for land battles which take forever. Switching screens is a little slow but not too bad.

Fred Bob jus' took de defaults given during installation which be set in me config.ini file as follers:

DisplayShadows = 1
TrilinearFiltering = 1
DisableShaders = 0
AdvancedLighting = 0
WaterDetail = 0
WorldDetail = 5
ObjectDetail = 0
IsSlowMachine = 1

So as ye kin see, many o' de fancy lighting tricks be turned off, but thangs still look purty decent. Aye, thar be a lil' bit o' choppiness in de World Map sometimes, but Fred Bob jus' be glad he kin enjoy de game whilst a PC upgrade be in de werks! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

YeeeeeHAW! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="xD:" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> Fred Bob done got him an upgraded ride! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

System Model: Dell Precision WorkStation 530 MT
Processor: Intel® Xeon™ CPU 1.70GHz
Memory: 1024MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA Quadro FX 500/600 PCI
Display Memory: 128.0 MB
Operating System: Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2

Now Fred Bob kin crank up all dem graphics thingies as follers <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/onya.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="onya.gif" />

[User Settings]
DisplayShadows = 1
TrilinearFiltering = 1
DisableShaders = 0
AdvancedLighting = 1
WaterDetail = 3
WorldDetail = 5
ObjectDetail = 2
IsSlowMachine = 1

Arrrr! De game now be lookin' way mo' betta! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/william.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":will" border="0" alt="william.gif" />

Oh, dat water purty now! It be purty befer but WAY mo' purty now! <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />

Running fine here also,apart from the painfully slow land battles, on a 7 year old
Pentium ][ 233mhz (!)
with 192 megs of ram and a 3DBlaster 4 MX460.
