Retextured Santo Domingo Port

After getting somehow a little *censored* by debugging the stuff, I decided to do a retexturing of Santo Doming port. Here it is:

Perhaps, it's ready now for upload. Currently I'm retexturing Santo Domingo town and have figured out something interesting:

There's a line for Greenford, which says:

Locations[n].models.day.rinok = "GrTown_e01";
<!--c2--></div><!--ec2-->

The GrTown_e01-Model contains the street-merchant's tents. So this line says, they're only added during day. So this might be another way to add buildings or other stuff to towns. I experimented a little in replacing the model with models of the building kit. <b>But alas:</b> The coords don't fit, because the models are centered. So every model is placed in the middle of town. Currently I haven't found a way to change that. I don't understand Inez TOOL and experimenting with GM->VRML-converting has failed, as I don't understand the tool right now.

The retextured port is now available on public FTP in my directory. Hope, I havn't forgotten any textures <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/whistling.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wp" border="0" alt="whistling.gif" /> . Should be compatible with 8th-july version of Pre-Build13 mod.

@Pieter: please be free to remove all files from my folder on ftp, that you added to the modpack.

Looks great. But why are the walls so blue? It looks a bit odd. But maybe that is because of the screenshot and not because of your texturing... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Thanks <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" /> . Was just a test for an idea to create a haunted town, where everything looks spooky. The walls are blue, because of texture-debugging reasons. The walls of Greenford-Town are composed of two texture files. I colored one blue completely, to see, which one's causing which walls. It's all work in progress...

For the blood, I took the texture, that makes the worn looks (of long time water running down a wall, have a look at the tops of townwalls) and recolored it red <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/type_1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":nk" border="0" alt="type_1.gif" />
 
It looks like you didn't add the RESOURCE\MODELS\Locations\town_SantoDomingo\town folder into your upload. All I see in there is the port folder, but not the town folder... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":?" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

Also: Are you deliberately not using the <i>Locations[n].models.day.rinok = "GrTown_e01";</i> line or was that one commented out accidentally?

That's true, but not accidentally. So far, only port is ready for release. Town retexturing has been finished yesterday evening, but needs testing and some final checking.

It's been purpose. That's the line, that adds the three (four?) street-merchants tents right of the gate to the model during day (so note: <b>only during daytime!</b>). I wanted to remove them at all, to create quite a different look. Maybe at a later time, I'll continue in trying to add another submodel instead of the tents, if I could get shadowing and lighting right (don't know, if there's any on the tents, as there's not much, where shadows could be visible). I don't want to add models like the building kit, that look odd because of those missing infos. (sorry to say that, but I don't like them very much personally).

It´s awesome how just the textures create a whole new feeling to an existing place, mate, would you like to texture a completely new town made by me? I am a bit unexperienced in texturing, mmm what kind of software did you use?
