Reputation bug

Hi! I am at the part of the game where the Gov. asks me to deliver a letter to the pirate cheif and after i do it my rep. goes down to horror of the high seas. I have a previous savegame and i tried it again and i reinnitialized before during and after that part o' the game and still no luck. anyone Know how to get past this? (have build 11) Thanks!!!

Well, i did borrow a little (a lot) of money fom de loansharks but, thats about it. Why is that bad? `uh-oh`!

No harm in borrowing Benny, but if you don't pay them back they get miffed and talk to their friends and say nasty things about you, and before you know it you're considered to be a horror of the seas, or something like that. Ar you playing with Build 11? if so then if you go rescue a handful of maidens in the various jungles, and that will get your reputation up and you can take care of business.

In the unmodded game, making donations to the church gets your rep back up.
