Really disappointing!

Well i admit im so impressed by build 14A8 but bugs! WOW gosh its unplayable!!!, im doing the Jack aubrey storyline, i have looked into the forums and i know for some reason that some stroylines are bugged, But this one!

1. Boarding, Always just me against 20+ enemy, way crazy!, where is my boarding party!
2. Even when a ship surrenders when it comes to the screen to divide up the spoils, take the ship/cre/goods ETC.....i get error about the ship and when i exit the screen the whole thing crash's
3.Half the people i speak to either have no dialog or crash the game when i select a certain speach sentence
4. Most island crash out when i visit them
5. all NEW forts are INVINCIBLE, my cannons just go straight through the walls, even taking huge fleets into it, no damage to the fort!

Unfortunatly its getting worse, island which were ok are now bad, the whole segment of the game i play it bugged up!

I can onyl assume its the storyline i play, I did the blaze storyline, that was AWSEME most crash's gone but still some there!

Anyway its not really a rant here, because im a modder and i know the effort that goes in and its still in BETA, so i am very thank full because the ship combat is so excellent and the expanse the the game is excellent!, but many bugs do need ironing out before it relased.

So if anyone knows any tips of solving this? shout!

First, I did not try the "Master and Commander" storyline yet, I am currently making my way through "Horatio Hornblower". But the environments are still the same, I presume.

There is nothing to loot, either. When you return to the sea, the game certainly will crash. Thats a confirmed bug. But I dont get this one. Anyone else getting this?

From what I heard, Alpha 8 indeed isn't exactly stable.
Of course I never claimed it was; it's solely meant for modpack development.

Anyway, the Master and Commander quest doesn't actually have a quest at all.
You are just free to do what you want and there's no story to follow (yet?).

1. It might have to do with the <i>string BOARDERMODEL = "marine";</i> line in
PROGRAM\Storyline\JackAubrey\StartStoryline.c
Try removing that line, starting the storyline again and see if you still have it.
However, if this is the case it should also apply to the Hornblower quest,
because that one also has that line.

2. Does that happen always?

3. Which people are those? On the newly added islands?
A lot of characters on the new islands haven't got their dialogs made yet.

4. a simple virtual sailor found out that removing Txiki Pijuan from
PROGRAM\Storyline\standard\characters\init\Officers.c
solves at least the Redmond crash in the standard storyline.
I haven't got a CLUE why that works, but I can confirm it. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wacko.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wacko:" border="0" alt="wacko.gif" />

5. Which forts are those exactly? I know at least <i>some</i> of the new ones can be destroyed.
Make sure you actually do have a high calibre cannons.
At one point I thought the cannons on my Manowar weren't doing any damage, but it turned out they were tiny little guns.
Installing a higher calibre solved that problem in that particular case.

2. Yes i try to recruit the officer, so i guess we solved that one

3.Most on new islands

4.Luckily im not playing the main quest but if i do i know what to do <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

5. Ok i will upgrade see what happens

Do you also have no boarders on other main quests?
Also it could be that they are generated below the deck (bug).
Does it happen on all ships or just on certain deck types?

Please hold on. One day we will have Build 14 finished.
And then it'll be the best pirate game you've ever seen.
