Things are in the process of changing a bit here at PA, so if ya notice any weirdness, I blame it on that ...and not cause I have had to much grog! This week has seen some interesting developments piratically speaking! Two Egyptian fishing boat crews managed to overpower the Somali pirates that had been holding them hostage and escaped. From all the information I have been able to gather, the fisherman killed at least two pirates during their escape, and another 7 seven shortly thereafter. The fisherman also now hold at least some of the Somali pirates captive on their two fishing boats, which are currently on there way back to Egypt. The Egyptian fisherman had been held since April.

In other news, and this one is a bit strange, the Maltese-flagged merchant vessel Arctic Sea was on her way to deliver a cargo of lumber to Algeria when she was apparently boarded by pirates in the Baltic Sea. The ship apparently passed through the English Channel and made last made routine radio contact with the UK authorities shortly before it passed through the Straits of Dover on on July 28. There has been no contact with the ship since. There were reports that she had been sighted over the weekend off the Cape Verde islands, but there has been no conformation. Stay tuned for updates on this one, it should be interesting! And as usual, the ICC's Live Piracy Report!
