Q: Is it possible to wipe out an entire nation?

A?: Although you could take out all the towns and install a new governor, I'm guessing that the settlements mean there'll always be privateers and pirates from other nations on the high seas and you'll never be able to destroy them all?
 
Is the only way to change your flagship right before battle? the manual says you can do it from the status screen, but the manual screen is different than the real status screen. also, i click on the little pirate symbol but nothing happens.

and

is there a way to move guns from your old flagship to your new one?

You should be able to change your flagship every time on the "fleet status" sceen. Your flagship is mrked with a black icon. Click in the same row in the line of any other ship and you should be equipped with a new flagship.

You don´t need to move cannons from one ship to another, your flagship always is equipped with it´s maximum gun number (provided you´ve got as many at all), all other cannons are stored in the hold. As well there´s no need to transfer goods from one ship to another, the loadig capacity always refers to the whole fleet.

thanks to both of you. for some reason, when I am in a port, i can not change flagships. i click on the black flag icon but nothing happenes. when I am at sea before a battle or if i hit <TAB> i have no problem changing. anyway, thanks again
 
Alright. I've got this AWESOME ship, and the time to divide the plunder is drawing near. Last time I divided the plunder, I lost all ships but my flagship. I have a better one now, and I really don't want to lose it.

So my question is: If I capture a ship and make it my flagship, will I still lose it?

Q: Are there any mods for this, I've played this time and time again, while the base game is still fun , I would to see more?
