Problem in Sea Dogs

Okay, I recently got me a copy of Sea Dogs and started playing it...the game is simply amazing.
Now, I have this mission to find the french cannons...and I couldn't find them. A walkthrough gave me the idea to blast the fort at Omory....but how? My reputation with the french stands at neutral, and no matter how many times I hit SPACE, I just can't get the guns to fire. Boarding nearby french ships is also impossible - the boarding icon does not even appear. (And yes, I have installed the 1.06 patch)

Does anybody know a solution to fix this?

Try firing cannon in first person on deck view rather than sea mode and yer cannons should fire <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/par-ty.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="par-ty.gif" />

Just like skull said <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" /> go to first person(either TAB or Q key), when the pointer turns red, press space to fire and you should be now at war with france.

Dear me, good old SD is still being played! Have many fond memories of that <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/yes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="yes.gif" />

I very much recommend Hosehead's SD AddOns , they double the gameplay value.

Thanks, guys. I forgot all about the q key. I kept hitting tab, but to no results.

I already installed househead's mod compilation. Thanks for the hint.
