I got all of the points except for 2 promotions from the french and maybe half a dozen wealth points.

I finally ended my Rogue career 1620's (second game I have played)... I was about 48 or so, and had rescued two of four relatives, found Montalban's hideout, three of the four lost cities, was #1 on the pirates list, had sank or captured about 275 ships, was Marquis for the Dutch, Duke for the French (which was my nation), and I think Marquis for the English too. The Spanish had a 198,000 gold reward on my head (I'd sacked around 25 of their cities.), and I had no rank with them. I retired with a beautiful wife, as governor of Montserrat, with some 45,000+ acreage, 24/24 weath points, and I think my final fame score was 104.

I fully intended to continue but the game made me retire. <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/urgh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":urgh" border="0" alt="urgh.gif" />

I was going to step back a level or two to continue my game, when I divided the plunder... Ah well, when I get the chance to get back into it, I'll do my next career a bit differently. I divided my plunder only once, right at the point where I retired. You can go on as long as you want if you never retire, since the game does not get the opportunity to force you to stop. Still, with waning skills that's hardly enjoyable...

Started in 1600 as a Dutch Swashbuckler (in a Fluyt!) and finishing in 1631 at the age of 49 with failing health.

Got all items, specialists, treasures, pirates, cities, villains, promotions, etc. with 20k+ acres of land and 300k+ gold for a total of 126 points. Ended up as governor of Florida keys and married the beautiful daughter of the previous Governor (took his daughter AND his job, har)

As the game forces you to retire when dividing the plunder with bad health, my last voyage lasted 179 months <img src="http://www.piratesahoy.com/forum/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />
Managed to keep my crew very happy by sailing around with 500k+ gold

As far as I know, 126 is the realistic maximum. Anything above that is a bug.

I wish it wasn't, though. It would be nicer to be able to continue with the point count, building up your wealth until you really have to retire (out of boredom if nothing else).

I reach the normal maximum in my second game.

So in order to have a new goal in my third game I wanted to see how good a health I could retire in and still have the normal max. score.

For me it was possible to retire with a fame score of 126 at an age of 29 with good health (swashbuckler from start to end and skill of medicine).

Those War canoes are just incredible at getting a lot of work done in no time. And dividing plunder is only a waste of time.

I have heard of people who played their pirate for `40-50` years of game life. I have not tried playing this long, as I loose interest as soon as I got the max score, so hopefully Sid is going to launch a new edition with extra fame points to be won in order to give the game new life.

But no doubt about that this is a brilliant game (just as the old one)

High Score & Mystery Ship Scoop...

Still going, but finally got all the fame points I think you can; if you add up all the wealth, romance, treasure, etc. points it equals 126. I'm going to try to reach 1,000,000 gold plundered, but getting kinda bored with the game even though it sure is a huge improvement on the old Pirates!

Remember those scurvy lads that left at see with it when their morale was down. You've found 'em. Only problem is to be able to attack your old friends you've got to find another ship sailing close to it to have the option to attack. When you do this, it allows you to attack your former ship and the nearby ship. I was able to reclaim over 16,000 in gold my old friends had run off with! Good luck to ya!
