Bug Nathaniel Hawk's Main story bugged + 1 minor bug

I'm on a quest where I need to meet Tobias in Speightstown. But first I need to sail to Bridgetown and there I need to speak with someone and he will guide me to a nearby cave where I need to transport some English soldiers. The bug occurs when I come to Bridgetown and I need to speak to Wilfred. I see him standing there at the port but when I press SPACE or go to action menu -> talk, nothing happens. I tried restarting the game, re entering the zone but nothing.

The other bug is, the game crashes when you try to speak with Bridgetown's tavernkeeper about recent news. tavern.jpgwilfred.jpg
 
When you land at Bridgetown you should not move. Wilfred will come to you and start the dialog. You might have to go back to an earlier save, like before you leave Port Royal. Bridgetown is generally buggy, but this part has always worked for me.

The bartender CTD has been reported before but no one has found the cause of it.
 
Ouch! :facepalm I save at every dock, coming and going because every once in a while the game hangs like this for no good reason. Going back to the last island usually gets it going again.
Maybe someone knows of a way to get around this spot, but I do not.
 
On the jetty at Bridgetown Ewan Glover talks to you first automatically when you land then Wilfred should run up and talk to you. ( from the image it looks like Ewan Glover is not there :confused: )

It is unwise to have any crew or Officers with you when you arrive at Bridgetown, as these can cause problems with Ewan Glover talking to you or apprearing.

You could try sinking the ship you are escorting. Then go back to Bridgetown. Wilfred should run up to you panic and run away ( removes the part of the quest where you escort the ship to Grey Rock bay ) then you should be able to go to speightstown and find Tobias.

Thank you very much!!! Removing officers solved the problem.

Having officers/crew with you at some points in the quest can cause problems. Mainly when the quest gives you a companion & they have to do something / talk to you.

I don't know why it happens, but it does. :shrug
 
That is one problem that I never had, so keep forgetting about it. I always have 3 officeres with me as I am terrible at fighting.
