Mr Gibbs has no Compass

Hi all,
I got one of These Cursed Coins out of a chest and want to get rid of the curse

I basicly know how to solve the Problem
Goto La Tortue
Find Gibbs
Get the compass from him - - > my Problem is when im talking to him i just get the Option to hire him as an Office but i cant get the Compass is there something i miss?

Is there another solution to get rid of the Coin oder to get the compass?

If i say no He sits there and dont talk anymore
If i say yes Hes like an normal Officer With the Standard Dialoges

This time i got the compass!! Dont know what i make Different this time i just left the Taverne beforhand

Shouldnt the New Island be Marked on the map now? Because i See nothing New right now

Isla de Muerte should now show up on the worldmap. It might not show up on the archipelago map. It should be somewhere near the western side of the Caribbean - start at Cayman and head south.
