Need Help Mod & Cheat Request List

I'm actually part way into doing a workover of several bits from the Build Mod now, Thomas. We should put together a tracking site, figure out who is going to be working on what, and commit to working as a team.

I've got plans for fixing up some ship hunting quests(Go sink/capture such and such a ship). Some 'lost'/'Shipwrecked' rescue quest(Figure there would be plenty of wives, sisters, daughters and fiancees that would like their loved ones rescued, and the females don't ever give you quests right now.)

I'd also like to figure out how to get it setup so I can have major 'Famous' pirates running around for you to hunt(Go kill Morgan/Ramsey/Teach etc). Maybe have quests available from the military walkers, or else add in a 'Naval Office' for each faction, so there are military quests on top of the governer quests(Escort this squadron to such and such an island and participate in a raid/attack/blockade).

Just some of the brainstorming I've been doing.

hi, i dunno how to put it but it was like this, can someone sort out the 'ship capture' grey button?
I was rank 13 with 3 unassigned officers all rank above 11, using a frigate to capture a manowar, but the button was greyed out after i defeated the captain, need to watch it sink.
I havent captured a fort yet so it was mighty hard to come across a manowar.
Perhaps it was a bug, but also maybe because manowar minimum crew needs to be 160, but with my frigate as a lone ship, and after battling with the manowar crew on deck, there's no way for me to have more than 200 crew to sail both ships right? But these condition didnt happen when i played with POTC and BUILD last time/
 
AOP Seems to be a lot more twitchy on making sure your stats are right to allow you to cap a ship. I'm still trying to figure out exactly what will allow you to cap a ship one time, but on another attempt, even though you think you should be able to, that cap ship button greys out.

One thing i want to find out, is how to make it that like my british brig will be only used by English, and the french schemes in game will be only used by french
 
I too agree with you, Thomas. I'm assuming that it can be set up similar to PotC, but haven't traced the code that far yet. I'd like to have particular models of ship that can be purchased from only one faction. Unique ships that are owned by particular pirates or faction captains and a lot more. Again, these are ideas from my personal brainstorming sessions of things I'd like to see in the game.

in POTC was it a string of code like this: ref.ShipNation: ENGLAND
but then it only let you buy the ship at that nations shipyard, but i want that british brig is used by england and not by the french.

I'd be happy right now with an editor/ trainer...so I can keep my officers....man that part of the game is driving me insane...there seems to be NO logic to it....I was at hero with the Dutch...they were fanatical.....I went to Bastard....still fanatical....I paid to get to rascal...still fanatical...I went to the dutch church and paid to improve my rep..

They all quit .

I'd love to see the ability to remove all the crew from a ship. That'd make taking ships and selling them and thier cargo worthwhile. You can get around it now by selling the old ship and buying a Tartane, but you'll still lose a lot of crew that way, especially late-game. Or, mabey code that re-distributes "unassigned crew" from the shipyard to the rest of your fleet when you leave.
 
Being able to switch you character uniforms would be nice. I was never able to see Beatrice in the coat she was featured at character selection screen (original game), maybe its not included or my game bugged.
Also. Its probably not possible/worth it, but could your character have several guns equipped at the same time and be able to cycle through them. I mean like be able to get 2 or more guns of same type and convert them into brace of guns, then u have same gun stats, but several shots. I just dont like multishot guns for some reason.
Another thing i like to see in game is weapons of same level but different stats, so there is no superior/inferior weapons like most are right now in the game. Same could go with guns.

And last. I tried the supermod, it is really a great addition, but there is one thing i dont like about it. The changed beatrice icon and the fact that her hair is now yellow for some reason. Would it be possible to choose between original character and new version instead of just changing her completely(for both, skin and icon). I like the slightly "evil" look Beatrice had in original game.

Here's how I restored Beatrice's red hair:

Install the game from scratch. Do not run it. Copy the following files to somewhere safe:
RESOURCE\Models\Characters\Beatrice.gm
RESOURCE\Models\Characters\BeatriceA.gm
RESOURCE\Textures\Characters\Beatrice.tga.tx
RESOURCE\Textures\Characters\BeatriceA.tga.tx

Install the Supermod. Copy the same files to somewhere else, just in case you want to see the modified Beatrice again. Then copy back the original files which you preserved from the basic game.

To give Beatrice a coat, edit "Program\Characters\characters_init.c". Find the line:

ch.model = "beatriceA";

Change the last word to "beatrice" (delete the "A"). I think this ought to work with either the original or Supermod versions of Beatrice, since the original has both "Beatrice" and "BeatriceA" files.
 
Ok here is what I was thinking for some new mods/ideas, drinking game, row boat feature, betting, fishing and added personal aiming of the cannons on the boats.

Ok so here is what i was thinking for the drinking game, you know how golf games have that bar that goes up and down and you have to hit it at the right time, well thats what you could use for the drinking game. The drinking game could be like a contest.

For the row boat idea I was thinking it would be nice to have fun in a row boat, also you could have a quest where its a race against other nations which you have to find a new island to claim, and the kicker is that you have to launch your row boat like in a race. Also on the row boat it would be fun to have musket man to fire at the enemy.

Fishing idea came to me from playing legend of legaia. It would be nice to have some side games to play. Just like Legend of Legaia you could buy better fishing rods, which can get fish faster, also the bigger the fish perhaps the bigger the rewards.

I'm also down for exploring around in your own boat, ie separate rooms etc.

And this last one is for me a dream mod...I would like to see AOP multilayer be more like WoW. It would be pimp to have a 5 or 10 man party go up against the insanely hard cave dwelling Blackbeard. Or trade etc...
 
Aye, to some of the first responses, great minds think alike! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/me.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":onya" border="0" alt="me.gif" /> In my opinion, these mods should not all be put into a pack but individually put up for download, and different types of mods would be compatible with each other in the same game, like Sid Meier's Pirates! so the player has the option to mold and shape the game in the way he/she chooses, since some of the recent responses were undesirable to me. I would like to see long quests that ultimately

Increases your reputation with a certain colony

Gives you a large prize, such as money, a ship, and/or a special item

Has special ships you have to face, with their own story of how they came to be and what they want

Adventures in the jungle! (I couldn't resist)

Can be completed only one time(as the quests are very long and it would get boring having to do them over and over again), with a long variety of quests

and Involves interesting characters

I would also like to see some more historical accuracies, like how in 1654 Santiago Vega is captured by the British and made into Port Royal/Kingston. And, if possible, have the ability to start in different time periods (keeping events historically accurate), such as Queen Anne's war, and have special Pirates like Blackbeard in accordance with the selected era to meet, let alone fight. More Island should be in order, I would like to see at least Cuba in the game with Havana, Santiago, and Puerto Principe in the jungles, as well as a vast network of jungle systems loaded with mini combat quests like fending off highwaymen, commandeering a ship on a beach, or somethings like that. Maybe New Providence and Nassau port could be in there as a pirate haven, with things in the jungle such as Blackbeard's tower. I would like to go as far south as Maracaibo too, and to places like Caracas and Cartagena, big stops for the treasure fleet of Spain. I would like to see a great cabin on the corvette ship type, keeping her stern chasers, but two of them would be on the bottom, and two would be above on the aft deck. And the frigate and battleship having top gallants, it just doesn't seen like a true warship without them, with the frigate having a more French/British appearance, rather than the Spanish Galleon-type great cabin it has now. I think the sloop should loose it's great cabin, no sloops of the day would have one, they're too small. Also a different model for the sloop, perhaps as a topsail type appearance, with one or two square riggers, the sloop now has too big of a square rigged sail, she looks like a trader more than a war vessel. I would also like to see more rankings in the navy with different privileges from that nation, such as less cost for ship repair, commissioning naval Squadrons, etc. And of course, to change uniforms and outfits, with the ability to have a brace of pistols and more than one cutlass/other type of sword with real damage, where if you shoot the guy his HP doesn't just go down a little, it actually kills the guy. I also want to take out the one-on-one battle with the captain, why should he get to stay in his great cabin while his crew still fight? We also should get a better great cabin, perhaps like the one from PoTC and have the ability the explore your ship such as walk though the roundhouse and crews quarters and go to your great cabin. And you couldn't just press the m key to go your map of the world (not the world map, that's where you actually sail) but you'd have to go to your roundhouse (or if it's a small vessel it would be the aft preparation table) and sit down and chart a course. I would like to see some ship models from AoP: Capt Blood, that game has great graphics but a story plot, so if they were modded into AoP: CT, that would be awesome. I'd like to have the feature where the cannon jump back with recoil every time it's fired and is loaded by the crew, whom you can see doing when you are walking around your ship, above and below decks. That's one of the great features about AoP: CB, yet I hate it that it's a hack and slash, story line slaved game, so again if the models would just be modded over to this game, that would be nice. I think it would be fun, to add to multiplayer, the ability to join friends online and have historical battles and play as some of the most infamous pirates or some of the most famous naval commanders would be awesome, such as Blackbeard's battle at Ocrakoke, Jack Rackham and the women pirates' battle with Captain Barnard, Morgan's raid of Puerto Bello, etc. And maybe, as someone metioned i believe, clutter the ships deck with muskets, provisions, goods, anything you might expect to find on a tall ship. And, I've wanted to see this in a pirate game, climb to one of the roosts in the masts and look through your spyglass that way. I would like to see the ability, as Cyberops metioned, to fly false colours and give chase, and actually Spook the enemy into surrender. I would like to have two ships side by ship with one crew starting from one side and our crew starting from the other, and the ability to use swivel guns, and have certain ships carry a certain amount of swivels. Well just thought I'd put my ideas down, hopefully we'll have more wonderful Ideas.

It's been nearly a year since anybody posted here...
Is modding this game dead, or what?

But anyway, I'd still like to be able to go into the captain's cabin and lower decks of the ships while out at sea, this was the main reason I liked POTC build mod. I saw somewhere that this feature was in the "Secrets of the Far Seas" mod, but I've been having a lot of issues with that, and I don't really like a lot of the changes made to the game within that mod anyway. I don't know how hard it is to add an option to teleport into another area while in sailing mode, but it would be greatly appreciated if it could be done.

Also, there is one other idea that I came up with, although it's not as important. During boarding, it would be good if the battles could be a bit longer, perhaps by making crew on both sides respawn a certain amount of times before they're gone for good? The amount of respawns cold also be based on the number of crew left on each ship before boarding.

Any kind of help towards the cabin thing would be brilliant, I can't really play the game without feeling I have access to the inside of my ship... <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/bounce.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":b:" border="0" alt="bounce.gif" />
