I played this Quest after Khael Roa and all works fine exept for a few hiccups:
The red gowned fellas don't have any weapons, they just stand there looking at you?
You can however kill them.Next time I will play this quest before the end of the mainquest

Ahh theres a couple things about this quest that you hafta do to actually get it to work right.... first is to complete "strange trouple" all the way upto the point where your 'lookin for a warf rat that saw the murder'; then STOP RIGHT THERE, as the quest has been modified.... and no longer completes by actually talking to anyone on QC.

Then you do "help the church", upon completing that, if you have finished 'strange trouple upto this point' when you ask the father at redmond about the mefisto, you get the propper quest update, from that point you just do what the quest says (which is mostly fed ex missions and theres a TON of them), talk to the 'dark teacher', exc exc, and you will 'eventually' have it revealed to you that the "shore" at isle muelle is in fact... the animist lair. while pre-slaughtering all the animist dosnt break the quest, you will still have to have all the updates to complete it with the battle w/ mefisto to rescue the chill'ns.

The only 'game breaking' bug I know of at this point is if you 'complete' "help the church" without having "strange trouble" done upto the point where your lookin for a warf rat... you will never get the update you need to progress the mefisto properly, and the quest will be lost / greyed out in your quest book...

Well... you DO get an update... but you dont have the logbook entry for it... which has alot of undersireable results.

Hope this helps/clarifies this wonky quest.
 
Rei... do you think you understand the process enough to be able to outline the proper method this should work?

I mean, if I have a guideline to follow, I may be able to figure out what is 'broken' about these two quests.

If there is simply some 'action' that is NOT being performed at a specific time and place, then I could add that in. OR if there IS an action that IS being performed that should NOT be allowed, I could comment it out and prevent it from occuring.

Do you catch my driftwood? I think if theres something seriously flawed with the quest, then it should be fixed. As new people (or even old) are not going to know how to properly do the quest if the game allows them to simply screw it up by doing one tiny thing different.

? Make sense ?

If you could, make it a new bug report, so we can keep track of it and log results etc.

Here is the way I play this Quest and it works all the way only stuffs up the main Quest a
bit: Chasing the girl to Isla Muelle the padre will not talk, so you have to visit him in Liars nest.
here is the way I go about it: Church quest, than Douwesen children, follow the leads to Quebradas,
Redmond Church, Isla Muelle, Oxbay, back to Isla Muelle, Redmond, back to Isla Muelle To talk
to Tobias, Greenford Jail. Than take the Prisoner to Isla Muelle, to the iland fight the guys in the
Liars back to beach to fight the Mefisto take the children back to Douwesen and last get reward
from Redmond priest.Hope I did not forget any. But feel free to correct! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/type_1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":nk" border="0" alt="type_1.gif" />

For all I know, it never did. Catalina The Pirate has once worked on making this quest a whole lot clearer and better working. Now you get a clue about the fact that you need to go to Redmond church for the Help the Church quest. The only thing that I know is wrong is Patre Domingues' location, because he goes to the Animist Prison and never gets out again.

For all I know, it never did. Catalina The Pirate has once worked on making this quest a whole lot clearer and better working. Now you get a clue about the fact that you need to go to Redmond church for the Help the Church quest. You Will get him out if you play the Mefisto quest after the main quest (complete Khael Roa first)!! <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/icon_mrgreen1.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":cheeky" border="0" alt="icon_mrgreen1.gif" />
 
Ahh, well the quest does work... but like you said peter it was getting hung with domingo' (this is fixed though with questables in the latest quest_reaction.c); Ill get with hat on this one and find the lines in the code that make the quest drop out of the quest book at the point of 'help the church' transition to 'strange troubles'. (that is a bug). I think once the quest update is given a new node... then it should be fine.
