I am having a weird issue here on Pirates Ahoy and no other websites that I have noticed. I open the site and it's fine. The first time I try to go to a new page I get redirected to various, random websites--usually porn or places trying to sell things. If I open a new window and go to the new page here it works properly after that. It seems to happen the first time I open Pirates Ahoy in a session.

I can't confirm this. Both on Firefox and Chrome, I start by going to "PiratesAhoy!", from there click on "Forums" (I also tried "Wiki"), and get to the correct page without being redirected anywhere.

@Jason Maffettone: which browser are you using? After starting at "PiratesAhoy!", which page do you go to next - "Forums", or somewhere else?

I'm seeing no redirects on this site, nor am I being alerted by security software that anything untoward is going on. Sounds like you're the victim of a browser hijack, @Jason Maffettone. Never seen that before, @Jason Maffettone.
Since when did that start happening?

@Pieter: about two days ago.

@Grey Roger: I'm using Firefox. I typically start from either the main page or the POTC Modding page. It seems to mainly happen when I select something from my alerts or inbox.

I used this one to find and remove a virus that two other programs didn't detect.

Free Virus Scan | Online Virus Scan from ESET

I ended up buying the full version and have been running many years since. ESET's NOD32 was recommended by someone who does *extreme* computer optimization as not using enough resources to bother turning it off to play a game.
