How can I sail from one Island to another?

Hi all.
How can I sail from one Island to another?
Do I need maps? If so how do I get them?
Where can I find the manual?

Just walk out on the pier until you see the little unlocked icon in upper left, then hit <spacebar> . That puts you onboard your ship. Now, sail out of the harbor. Of course, you can't sail from 1 island to another in Sailing Mode; you need to access the World Map- hit <F2>, then choose World Map. From there, you can sail to any island in the game. You don't need charts (I don't think there are any in the game anyway), the map is just the Carribean. If I remember correctly, you start the game in Bridgetown on Barbados, so most other islands are north and west.

Not sure where you can find a manual. I think there is a read_me file in the game, but that is usually not much help. And of course, there are hints, spoilers and walkthroughs here. As Nosie said, just click on the link in his signature, it is below the dotted line on his post.

That depends on your choice of starting nationality. English characters start at Bridgetown, Barbados. Other nationalities start off at their respective capitals; French, for example, start off on Guadeloupe. And pirates start off on Isla Mona.

In the game box. <img src="style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/pirate_plain.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="3" border="0" alt="pirate_plain.gif" /> Mind you, the manual contains several errors, one of them being the key for the "paper" map of the whole Caribbean. The manual says it's "V", but as has already been said, it's actually "M".
